I'm dissappointed in Bono. Now I don't know the details of the whole thing, but according to Bill O'Reilly (I didn't actually see the program it was on either) he and a party of 14 others including ex Pres. Clinton and Chelsea Clinton spent $15,000 on one dinner. Meaning approximately $1,000 was spent per person (my math's good isn't it!?). Now of course Bono could have spent only $30 on dinner which would redeem him, but the point is, that kind of flashy spending has always, and will always irritate me.

Now please don't flame me, I am not dictating what Bono can and can't do, or debating whether he's a good man or not (yes he is

), I'm just dissappointed in him.

or, on second thought, go ahead and flame me cos it really doesn't bother me

I don't understand. They all went to dinner and spent that much? Or was there a dinner held and that is what is cost? When was this? I need a little bit of clarification here please.

Was this just recently? I remember a few months ago there was some big deal because they went out (I think on Chelsea's birthday or Clinton's birthday or somebody's birthday or something) and had a huge tab. Is this the same incident?

Maybe that's whay he calls himself a champagne socialist.

At full service restaurants, I have often found that the more expensive a place is, the lower quality and quantity the food is. They probably ate something like 2 ounce raspberry-mesquite grilled Wyoming elk filets with a couple of broiled lemon new potatoes and a sprig of brocolli. And don't forget the red wine to make the night go better for Bono. And all of that would easily run $15,000, not including the tip.

I hate "gourmet" fare.

That is because you are from Alabama and are not sophisticated enough to be able to enjoy life's pleasures.

Go scrap up your road kill with the spatula and fire up the bar-bee-qu.

Bono has money to burn and he can't take it with him when he leaves this plane of existence, so why not?

I am a big spoiled baby who works for very rich people and I looovvve my fancy gourmet dining. I eat insanely well on the job and then have a tofu dog at home.

Just remember how much time and money he spends for people less fortunate that we are BG, it will make u love and respect him again

Mrs. Clayton - I just got off the phone with Mr. Bama and after a long heart-to-heart conversation, we have settled out differences over my preceding post. I thank you for your

response to my thread. The

made it apparent to me how cruel I was.

Thank you...

It's his life and money, he can do what he wants with it, even if at times it seems hypocritical because of the causes he supports.

I'm just happy he's not doing stupid things like getting kitchen counters installed with actual butterfly wings ingrained in the material, or whatever other extravagant things certain other "artists" do with their cash.

meeganie, I have no clue when it was

I remember something about new years or something.

Bama, I know, most gourmet food is a total joke..there is some that is worth the money but very, very few.

and PopAngel, of course he has every right to spend his money however he wishes, and he is a very generous man; frivilous spending just rubs me up the wrong way
