Fanfire / Propoganda - please help!!

Hi guys/gals,

I used to be a Propoganda member, and never received my discount code for Fanfire. A few months back I spoke to someone there (Shannon - I think her name was) and after looking up my details, confirmed I was indeed a Prop member (they had sent my code to an address I had not lived at for 3 years!!). By the time she got back to me, I had already paid my $40 to join up with fanfire, and Shannon said I would get a refund for the $20.

well, it's been more than a few months now, and haven't received anything. I've rung up Fanfire's # more than a few times, and everytime they say someone will get back to me but they never do!! Does anyone have a contact # within Fanfire other than the general phone # (where I always seem to speak to people who have no authority to do anything) that I can ring - this is getting extremely frustrating now - and all I want is my refund, and confrimation that they have me down as a Prop member for when the next lot of tickets go on sale. I left shannon a couple of messages and she never got back to me, and I dont know any other #'s to ring - can anyone help please??!? This is soooo frustrating - all I want is to speak to someone who actually knows what they're talking about, and can confirm things with me instead of saying 'I'll have to check and get back to you' - which they never do!

many thanks in advance if anyone can here can help me,
yours frustratingly,
Jayone

But can you log in to U2.com with your password? Your code should be at the left of the screen as you enter after logging on.

Thx for the quick reply!

Just logged on, and no code anywhere. I have no idea what my code is, as when I spoke to Shannon she said I didn't need the code anymore as I had already subscribed to Fanfire - and they would process my refund for me. I am very confused right now - how do I get in touch with someone to help me fix this mess up??

Send an email to sbentley@signaturesnet.com.

This person resolved the Prop issues for many people here, maybe they can help you, or maybe this is even the Shannon you spoke (just occurred to be that the S in Bentley could be for Shannon.).

Anyway, I would give them every single detail you have about your problem in the email. This person never got back to me but I did get my Prop code within the hour after emailing them all of my details.

I don't know whether this a comfort or not, but I'm an ex-Prop member who got charged $40 rather than $20.

The other day I was going to email U2.Com to see whether they could sort out a refund, but before I had chance to do that I got my Credit Card statement through - they'd proccessed the $20 refund without being prompted.

Congrats!
Does your prop # show anywhere on the page when you login? i.e. do they have you on record as a prop member?

I believe you're referring to the presale code, whereas Jayone is looking for the Prop discount code, which doesn't show on the U2.com page.

I'd say keep trying people at Fanfire/Signatures until you get some satisfaction.

No - I can't find any reference to my Propaganda membership on my login page. But I assume they do know I was a Prop member because they mailed me a letter explaining the U2.Com membership discount. I also got a U2.Com "credit-card" with a number on the back that I used to claim the $20 discount.

I guess if you didn't enter that number when you joined U2.COM they might not have it on the database that you were a Prop member.

It's all a bit immaterial to me now as I've already used my Presale code.

I would be nice if the gave us Ex-Prop members priority entry to the "Egg" or whatever it will be called on this tour!

yeah, but that's the problem - I didn't have the prop code when I joined (they sent it to the wrong address, so I never got it), so right now, it's as if I was never a prop member in their database!!

I'm looking for a contact phone # where I can get though to someone who can actually help me, as opposed to just taking a message and then never phoning me back...

The only way to tell if you are considered a Propaganda member in their database now is to I guess look at the email you received from U2.com with your "presale code" it would have made mention of you being a former propaganda member.

I know mine did, as well as, some other members here.

Also, I suggest again (as in my original post in this thread) to trying emailing all of your details to the person I originally mentioned.

Thank you!!! I didn't see your post with that email address in it. Will do so right away. thanks again!

well - I sent the email a few days ago, and haven't heard anything back....

anyone got a phone # I can try??

This is getting ridiculous...

I have sent emails to everyone I can about this matter (I, like MANY, am a prop member that never received a code, a letter, etc.) and have received nothing back. I even tried the magic sbentley email that folks were raving about. and now to hear that prop members can buy tickets on tuesday? damn that hurts. I can't imagine how much more it will sting when/if I'm unable to get GA tickets on wednesday...

Former Prop members: call Fanfire, it's not too late!

I know this has been discussed elsewhere but I want to make sure everybody sees this.

I used to be a Prop member, but never got the letter. I can't say whether it was because my membership was expired or because I had moved. Anyways, I paid the 40$ for U2.com and didn't bother to call Fanfire.

But today after reading some posts about this on Zootopia, I decided to call Fanfire just in case they could switch my status to Prop member so I could get tickets to 2 shows and be in the first group for the pre-sale.

I talked to a woman, told her about my situation, and she couldn't confirm to me whether I was on a former Propaganda list or not after I gave her my old address, but in any case she said I should be getting an e-mail today or tomorrow, and I should be able to participate in the Tuesday Propaganda pre-sale with my code!

So all of you who used to be with Prop but didn't get the letter and the discount, call now, it's not too late: 1-800-615-1324

Good Luck!

Im in the same boat as you. Countless emails, phone calls etc.
They say they have no record of me as a propaganda member.
It fuckin stinks.

Same thing for me- I called today too. I keep checking my email every 5 seconds..I hope it comes soon!!

You should try again. I just called Fanfire today (Sunday) and they changed my status to former Prop member without any trouble. I'm not even sure was on any special list, they just seemed to be very accomodating all of a sudden.

Call now, it's not too late! 1-800-615-1324

Yep - after all I went through, I rang them up with one last effort on Friday and thank goodness got through to someone who actually wanted to help me. They changed my status for me right there and then after confirming my former Prop. status.

Good luck, and definitely give them a call on Monday so you're won't be late for the Tuesday sale!

they will also process my $20 refund for me next week, but really, that's secondary to getting in on the pre-sale.

I rang the general #: 1-800-767-7160 and then they put me through to the supervisor on duty who dealt with it for me.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions - very grateful for your help.

Re: Former Prop members: call Fanfire, it's not too late!

Amazing, thanks for the info. I will call monday morning and pray that they come through.
Good luck to all in the same boat. I should have done this before but I just needed this extra push to do it!

I got through to Fanfire this AM, told them of my situation. The rep then spoke to his supervisor and gave me a new code. Problem is, after I hung up, I realized the code was the same as my previous code! Did he pull a fast one on me, or did they just change the settings on my existing code? What has happened to others who called Fanfire about this?

Ack! I called Fanfire last night- they said I would be upgraded to Prop status. I checked U2.com this morning and My unused code is gone!!!This is what I have instead! I hope I get another code. *nerves*

It should be ok. When I called, I asked the Fanfire lady if I was going to get a new code, and she said NO, I will keep the same code, but should be able to participate in the Tuesay presale.

I just spoke to a woman at Fanfire and she was clueless as to how it is suppossed to work for former Prop members who have already used their code. After educating her for 20 minutes, she spoke with her supevisor and it appears I'm going to get my code reactivated in time for the Prop-only presale tomorrow....but I'm not counting the chickens before they hatch!!!

Hey Like Someone to Blame!!

I haven`t seen you around in these parts in ages!!

In case my name doesn`t ring a bell, I think we did a swap or something for the Montreal gig back in October 2001. You and one of your friend`s met up with me at the arena.

Maybe I`ll see you again on this tour!!!

- Julie

Hey Julie!

Of course I remember you!!! We sure did do the swap and I hope you enjoyed the show!

I've been around these parts, though more of my time has been spent lurking and not posting...I have a moderate to severe case of carpal tunnel in both wrists so typing is painful...

Anyways, I'm impressed you remember me....I'm actually going for Montreal tickets this pre-sale so maybe I will see ya again!

Take care

Rob

Well, I remembered you but I couldn`t remember your name

Montreal, eh? Well, it falls on the weekend so I'll most likely be there too! (although probably not in the GA line at the end of November!!)
