Bad ends, all house lights off, Milky Way begins. 40 snippet begins with Bono singing until the crowd takes over. Edge and Adam slowly say their goodbyes as the crowd carries 40. The spaceman(Bono) picks up the spotlight, scans the crowd gathered on their own little planet , looks admiringly and bids his loving farewell. Larry then listens to the crowd for a few seconds and sends us home with the drum solo outro to "40."

Comments

-Casuals happy, die hards happy.

-Unlike many of the fine set lists above(and no sarcasm here, there were some good ones right above me), it acknowledges that U2 formed in 1976 and not 1984 or after.

-The Until The End opening is Stingray into a pre video of the rocket taking off/planet exploding just like the Zoo TV performance in Sydney. That short video intro on Zoo Tv would fit 360 perfectly.

-The Desire opening is back to basics. Stingray ends, Edge hits the last note for it. Then he immediately hits the 1st notes to Desire before anyone else does anything. Then, just like the studio, Bono lets out a scream and Larry comes in with the beat.

Either opening would set the place on fire!

-This set requires that U2 have 37 songs ready for a given leg of a tour. More than feasible for them. Will not require endless rehearsals, maybe a bit more time than now, but hey, its a stadium show and the space between gigs is there.

In 2009 they had 7 songs from the new album. Now The Edge wants it to be past, present and future. Here they would still have 6 new songs: 4 from the album and 2 unreleased songs every night plus the 2 intros.

I think it would work to have both intros, walking in to Soon and lifting the roof with Stingray instead of Breathe.

Glastonbury should stay, because it's tight now, and it won't kill the mood, even if the casual fans don't know it, because it's such a great rocker and has a beautiful instantly memorable melody.

EBW and Mercy should be played just before Elevation, if they want to have a rocker and crowd pleaser after the unreleased song, should some people in the seats be tempted to sit down.

Bad would be a beautiful alternative to UF for the second night. Many fans would love it and it should sound familiar to even the casual fans. Would be so amazing in that spot with the screen folding out.

HMTMKMKM first night this year, and great to still have UV, while a lot of fans show up the next night.

I could have dreamed about other favourites, but wanted to keep it realistic.

I feel like it stays true to the feel U2 is going for with the current set lists on the tour, but also switches it up a bit, and provides lots of room for change. With almost every song given another option to rotate each night, every show will be a different experience. I also think the inclusion of a POP dedicated slot in the set is a must and I have no idea why they haven't done that yet.

This would be my personal dream set for the remainder of this tour. Fairly heavy NLOTH promotion straight through and it includes most of what they're playing or have played. So not totally unrealistic. Slot 12 would be the wild card slot. Has anyone else thought that it would be awesome to hear Edge's The Batman Theme from a couple of years back, as an intro for Hold Me Thrill Me Kiss Me Kill Me, to open the encore (at those times it actually does?)

Could that be possible or is that track property of Warner Brothers in some way?
