my Seattle GA experience
between getting back late from a flight on saturday and a friend who bought tickets with me going back and forth on if he could come or not, we got into the line around 3 o'clock.
not long after i got in line (basically around the corner of WaMu, near the garage entrance) the Edge came by in a van waving to everyone. then Bono and Adam got out of some other cars and waved at everyone briefly. it was cool, but i didn't get a photo.
met some very nice people in line, had some snacks, and hid from the brief rain. after my wife went to check out the merch, she said that some of the line had started to move. i had been planning on getting seattle dogs before we went in, so i walked down to one of the little booths. it took longer than expected, and as i was walking back, i noticed my wife waving frantically right before security. we downed (most of) our dogs before security.
so at around 4ish, we went through the scanners. the CLink rules about plastic bags meant that one of our new friends in line couldn't bring her small purse in by itself, but we could take it in in our plastic tote that we purchased for Sounders games. so weird, but whatever. had to ditch some snacks, but we had our sealed waters, some other snacks, and jackets in the plastic bag without issue.
CC scan was fine, i got my ID out and they said they didn't even need it. got through lightning fast. waited in the event center/WaMu for about an hour-ish before getting in.
got in the stadium about...5 or 530. was about 8-10 people back from the b stage. wife and i are tall so it wasn't too bad of a view. some iphones in the way at times, but i was doing the same occasionally so i can't complain. had time to grab a pricey beer and churros, which was nice.
started to fill up around 6, sat on the ground to save space for our two new friends from the line that went to get some food. got to know the people in our immediate vicinity, which worked out well when some dude and his wife just pushed right in after mumford. nobody had seen them before and they just silently pushed through. they got in between myself and my wife, so i politely pushed past so i could stand behind her. some of the people around us got irritated at them, but i decided that silently holding the ground i'd had for hours was the best course of action. typical GA drama ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
otherwise, i loved the show. was so close to every band member aside from Larry on the b stage. loved the graphics/vids, loved vedder's appearance, it was just great overall. still buzzing and have sore feet!
