It’s funny how much you know how to rip my heart out
And no doubt, you will somehow get me to bow out.
It’s time now for you to get loud and I won’t hear you shout
And I’m not proud when I walk out, you have me disavowed.

And I feel as if I dig your own tomb
When I leave you in the next room,
Do you still think I’m your father at all
When your calls don’t get further than the wall?

And I took fright the other night when I turned off the light,
You’ve built up a fence, a heavy silence and I felt in the distance.
Were you sleeping tight or was it a fight based on non-violence?
This is your right and die, I just might, I love you, in my defence.

And I felt as if I dug my own tomb
When you left me in the next room,
Do you think you’re my daughter anymore
When I turn the handle and shut your door?
