More 5G Than Man
Do you think it’s a combo of
Shutting down before everyone else
More tests now
Relaxed measures or nice weather so people are going out more.
Back in March San Diego weather was just gross (for here) and i think the shock and awe of it all kinda jolted everyone to stay in.
Now weather is warming up and May Grey hasn’t really happened. I see way more foot traffic downtown, more cars on the streets, etc.
Just seems almost normal
All of the above. Honestly, I think the Angeleno approach to lockdown hasn't been all that different from Sweden's in the end, at least not in the past few weeks. Their citizens socially distance even though it hasn't been strictly enforced and their mobility dropped by about 30% as a result. Right now? I would say ours is down maybe 45-50% from what is typical this time of year.
If/when the second wave comes through, it will be interesting to see how major metropolitan areas are impacted compared to rural areas that were not as intensely impacted the first time through. Lately, it barely feels like we've locked down at all. Serological testing should illuminate this issue somewhat in the coming months as we uncover reliable antibody tests, but we're not there yet.
