I'm confused as to why they never tried opening with Boots. I really thought it could work really well.

I loved the Soweto choir remix of Boots that they used in South Africa, and figured it would be cool to segue right into the actual Boots to kick off the show.

As overplayed as Pride was, it isn't anymore, which makes it's appearances special, though I wouldn't mind if it was rotated with Still Haven't Found. It was pretty powerful in its appearance during U23D with that South American crowd.

sadly, not anymore. the show i had in the cheap seats at Melbourne II, the majority of the people around me remained seated and impassive.

Who sits at a U2 show? I didn't sit at Vertigo and I was 8 1/2 months pregnant with my son then! Seats are only useful until the band shows up!

Agreed, I love Breathe and actually thought it should have opened the album, but Boots definitely kills the crowd live and would have made a great opener, hell they even made it look like it was the opener on the Rose Bowl DVD.

Open with Boots, go into EBTTRT, then MW and Magnificent. And the entire show should be that way. Bounce between old songs and new. None of this 2,3,4 songs from an older album in a row. *I'm looking at YOU, 4-song ATYCLB set from last night*

Lets not forget that the band is feeding off of the energy of the South American audiences. So a couple of uptempo numbers to start it off makes sense.

Boots is a great opener IMO.
