29 November 2006 Tokyo Saitama Super Arena

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Anyone have hotel reservations, yet?

I'm looking at the hotel list here:

http://www.scvb.or.jp/e/e_accom/accom.html

Looks like rooms with two beds can be had for $90-$140 US per night.

Saitama Super Arena is right next to Saitama Shintoshin Station, which is only one stop from Omiya Station, so it looks like most of the hotels on the above list are pretty close to the venue.

Would be great if we could all stay at the same place, turn it into an International U2 Fan Epicenter.

OK, I checked all the hotels listed that have English-language websites:

The Palace Hotel has rooms with 2 beds at about $131 per night (per priceline.com)

The MaRRoad Inn is at $105, includes breakfast.

The Pioland Hotel is also at $105 for two beds, no breakfast.

All three hotels are within a few minutes' walking distance of the Saitama Super Arena.

I checked out some of the other hotels with Japanese-only websites, but they are all either the same appoximate prices as the three listed above, or they are located too far away from the arena.

The Palace Hotel looks the nicest to me, though a bit more expensive than the other two.

Here is their website:

I am planning on attending the shows but would like to know when how hard it is going to be to get tickets.

seattlefan - there is a Tokyo ticket thread under U2 Tour Dates with some info but we're all basically waiting for the announcement of a public onsale date. I believe Yokohama ticketholders are now in the process of exchanging their tickets for one of the Saitama shows. I think that exchange period goes through 9/5, or so.
