U2 WEEKEND; U2?s BEAUTIFUL DAY, LIVE FROM SLANE CASTLE, IRELAND
Kicking off Channel 4's U2 weekend on Friday November 8th is this very special U2 performance, recorded last year at Slane Castle, Co Meath. The band became the first in history to play a second date at the castle, the first time being back in 1981 when they supported Thin Lizzy. All 80,000 tickets sold out in 94 minutes as fans rushed to see one of the best live bands in the world perform as part of their 'Elevation' 2001 Tour. Showing for the first time in the UK, Channel 4 gives viewers the opportunity to see the band perform many of their classic tracks including Beautiful Day, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Where The Streets Have No Name and One. U2 weekend continues on Saturday 9th with PopMart Live recorded in Mexico City and on Sunday 10th with Zoo TV live from Sydney.

U2 WEEKEND: POPMART LIVE FROM MEXICO CITY
In 1997 U2 released their album Pop, and with it staged their biggest and most ambitious stage show to date, the PopMart tour. Despite using a 55 foot tall, 170 foot wide video screen, giant lemons and elaborate effects, the band managed to maintain their emotionally compelling message to stadium size audiences. This live performance sees the band play a 23 song, career spanning set which includes classics such as Discotheque, Until The End Of The World, Mysterious Ways and Desire.

U2 WEEKEND: ZOO TV LIVE FROM SYDNEY
With the arrival of U2's groundbreaking album Achtung Baby came a new kind of live show. The Zoo TV Live experience was widely lauded as the Sgt. Pepper of rock tours, using the latest in live technology and circumnavigating the globe twice in almost two years. This live performance, recorded in Sydney in December 1993, captures the band during this new stage of innovation, as they unleash their latest material to an audience of 45,000, playing tracks such as Zoo Station, The Fly, Even Better Than The Real Thing, Love Is Blindness and Lemon.
