U2 Unofficially Uncovered
A new U2 documentary following the band is set to be released on DVD this month. However, the film, released unofficially, most likely uncovers absolutely nothing.
The movie, titled ?An Unforgettable Journey? takes a look at the twenty year history of the band. It features exclusive interviews with the band and their friends, charting their ups and downs (apparently).
The documentary promises to give fans ?an uncensored look at a truly extraordinary band? but beware, the content is certainly dubious. The film company who produced it were not available to tell us what exactly the film involves, in fact no one seemed to be able to tell us very much at all other than the release date. Lending credence to the idea it?s little more than insipid footage roughly cobbled together.
The film also claims to have exclusive interviews, although probably not with the band. No information from the band?s record company was forthcoming at time of going to press so expect exclusive unseen interviews with Larry Mullen Jnr?s butcher, someone who got on a bus with Bono?s mum and look forward to seeing a bloke who with a chewed brio once belonging to The Edge.
Don?t hold your breath for any live footage either. Or indeed any U2 tracks at all, as the entire film is soundtrackless. However the DVD contains a ?U2 Masterclass?, presumably a U2 Idol style guide. Die-hard U2 fans will probably love it, but don?t expect to hear anything you didn?t already know.
?An Unforgettable Journey? is released April (21) on Chrome Dreams.
