"she cat"

Well if we are getting multiple remixes in various musical stylee's, does anyone think we might get a trippy dub style mix?

An cat dub - (kitty sleeping in a breeze mix)...

:reject:

Do you have any inside info to share?

I did say something like that, yeah.. there are/were signs to suggest as much. But what I'm saying now isn't necessarily mutually exclusive of that.. just that they've had a familiar face doing work on mixes for them over August/September

EDIT: stuff I said about the band getting together this week to listen to these mixes is just me wondering aloud
Lillywhitewash?

maybe, and maybe i'm just really crazy here, but maybe she wasn't even thinking about what was playing in the background and just wanted to instagram her cat? and then somebody was like, "yo, uh, can you replace that video? there's a new/demo/unreleased/whatever song in the background," so she took it down?

i mean, you have to figure that hearing songs in progress (maybe a better name for SOE) is pretty commonplace for her given that she's, you know, married to the guitarist.
Click clack

Have we already mentioned that Depeche Mode seems to be up to something recently? Their album releases have been pretty close to U2's over the past decade or two.

Can I go on record as stating that those who think U2 purposefully snuck a new song into Moreligh's Instagram cat video are fucking coocoo?

Cause those who think U2 purposefully snuck a new song into Moreligh's Instagram cat video are fucking coocoo.

You're certainly entitled to that opinion, but I stand by mine that it was on purpose.

I'm very skeptical of it being on purpose. But I'm fairly confident it could be a track from SoE (which is exciting), and the fact it's being listened to/worked on at this stage shows they haven't given up/aren't resting on their laurels (at least, not Edge).

Also the fact it was a tiny, 5 second clip, and yet got taken down from instagram and clyp is pretty promising to me. I don't think they'd bother so much if it wasn't a new/imminent track.

For the record, I would normally say that it wasn't on purpose. But the whole remix being played in front of a large crowd thing makes me wonder if the band is dabbing into a new form of marketing.

I wouldn't in a million years have thought it was deliberate, then I told my wife the story. She hasn't known a thing about any of this, so I went back to about June and told her everything. When I got to that, she said "they are so fucking stupid - that is obviously deliberate, because all of you train spotters will water at the mouth over it - but for what? Just release a fucking album!"

I love my wife.

Same. Those in the U2 team who monitor what's going on in the fan communities know that some of us are watching all social media accounts that are related to the band like hawks. So while it was most likely uploaded by accident, I wouldn't be surprised if their team also had some kind of input. We shall see if someone else uploads a snippet.

Sorry Fox, I don't. I do know some folk in and around the music scene, I'm sure like a lot of members here, (it's nobody hugely famous) but they have all been working in different circles and countries for a while now. I'm just as in the dark as most are here and I'm just as excited to see and hear what they come back with very soon.

Some of you really give U2 way too much credit.

This is the same band that did a stop start album release, wasting one of the largest marketing opportunities of the year... totally misread the tealeaves on their album release method... but they're now sneakily putting album clips into cat videos as a pseudo-guerilla marketing campaign?

What Headache said.

Also the notion that they have their wives collaborating on subtle marketing moves. Since no one in the mainstream fanbase knows who Morleigh is, let alone follows her Insta, this would be dropping a hint for just the most obsessive of fans, and then apparently yanking it away immediately.

It's laughable.

Why would U2's team think up and then ask Mrs Edge to upload a 5 second bad quality snippet in a sleepy kitty sleeping in the breeze clip though? If it had been 30 seconds and better quality, you might think they were trying to gauge fan reaction to a new song, but in this case it looks to me like a mistake that simply had the audio removed as it does sound like a new song in whatever stage of completion. Naughty Morleigh, careless Morleigh, baad Morleigh!

Fecking cat sleeping in the breeze...stupid cat, stupid clip, stupid marketing, it could have had more female vocal too so we could at least try to name the singer! Stupid kitty, bad kitty, in your basket!

:crack:

Clearly U2 have nothing better to do than play silly guerrilla games with a random handful of trainspotters on the Internet.

The cat video placement was accidental. No doubt.

So this is what an interference meltdown looks like.....
Can't imagine how bad it was 5-10 years with more active members.

It was an accident. U2 do not mix business with their private lives. They do their best to keep it all separated.

Say what?! Morleigh's been a choreographer, done photoshoots with their dads, done photoshoots with their kids, Adam has shared his privates, and Larry has shared his propensity for cosmetic surgery.

Yeah, just go back to the post-Invisible album delay announcement to see what a real one looks like. I definitely had my "fuck this band" moment, and honestly will never really forgive them for that move, which torpedoed a legit Danger Mouse collaboration.
Yeah, it was probably one of the stupidest decisions they have ever made. That day was brutal.
