Cedarwood Road the weakest spot on the album?! Wow....

I know ...surprising if people think that way. The ending of Cedarwood is probably the most powerful part of album. One of my favorites for sure and the BBC performance was great.

SORRY, I wasn't clear enough (I'm at the office and constantly distracted), but it was NO performance, only Bono and Edge chatting, the interview was recorded yesterday. They played Iris and The Troubles on the radio, not live. The chat was quite nice, relaxed, some interesting things said, mainly about the Clash (Bono doing a live impromptu performance), Songs of Experience and some stories about Songs Of Innocence. Edge said about the Apple deal: People who don't like U2 just aren't trying hard enough

The thing that tickled me the most last night was when they were talking about working with producers who didn't necessarily enjoy all of U2's work & Bono said something like "do you not think Brian Eno goes home & listens to Sunday Bloody Sunday?"

Question (I'm really curious), why do some people call Bono "Boner"? Is that derogatory or nice?

It's a little bit of both. I remember, back in the 90s, Beavis and Butthead watching the Mysterious Ways video and calling him Boner, and it sort of stuck between me and my friends.

I know Howard Stern calls him Bongo.

And I think in American Psycho (they book) they go to a JT-era U2 concert and one character asks, "which one is The Ledge?"

I've used all those names at different points. Because it's funny to me.

This is what I hear, don't know If the first verses make some sense at all...

"The Morning After Innocence"

Is that your phantom pain?
Navy with a nib of gold
You never could write so well
I do anything you've ever told
On 10, Cedarwood Road

I'm your older self
The song of experience have come to ask
For some help from your song of innocence

Lead me in the way I should go
I'm running out of chances to blow
That's what you told me
And you should know

Lead me in the way I should be
Unravelling mistery of the heart
And it's defence
The morning after innocence

I WILL BE DAMNED! There it is!!!

"Lead me in the way I should go" was a song title floating around since before NLOTH! I love it when things like this happen!

Maybe we'll get "all my life" on SOE, a song that I always felt had massive potential.

Ok, thanks!

I lost my internet connection when Stuck was starting :sigh:

So I guess it was full band? With Edge on piano?

Funny that they decide to play a song that is usually played acoustically full band in an otherwise (mainly) acoustic session. Must say I love Stuck acoustic, curious for this version. BBC2 should have a podcast up very soon to listen again and I'm sure audio files will be available soon, too. LOVED this session, especially the two new songs that they played for the first time. Bono's such a great singer if he doesn't strain so much. Cedarwood and Song for Someone were beautiful.

Great vocals from Bono.

Stuck was bass, drums and Edge on piano. Beautiful version, right behind Letterman's Bono/Edge only version for me.

EBW is the winner of the night. The strings really raised the level of the song, and I already liked the Bono/Edge version.

Song for someone and Cedarwood also benefited from strings.

Even Miracle was at its best last night, more smooth than previous times.

AcousticHaters gonna hate, but this was superb.

U2 vision has just put photo on instagram of the full band turning up at the bbc studios, they say its radio 1 but surely thats got to be for graham norton?

Dianne Delahunty:

@u2 @grahnort @TheGNShow wristbands at the ready, waiting to go in.... Thanks @U2Community

Drums. A few guitars. Maybe some chances for 'The Miracle' full band? Or otherwise, def something more than the only TMOJR.
