So, it's funny how crazy this forum is. I was just thinking about how U2 may very well do a release of some sort completely independent of Apple.
I then of course slapped myself and said - that could mean a midnight drop!!!
So I hop on and of course someone else has already beat me to it.

If it is independent of Apple, and it's only a single, would midnight be appropriate? or would it be like noon or something...?

I'm going to go ahead and add to the insane levels of speculation, but I don't think it really matters where U2 are physically located for this particular event. I'm sure there's some fancy camera/video capabilities with some new Apple product, and they could just use said camera to appear on an awesome, crystal clear video call.
