I sew/alter clothing. I do collage art / Artists Trading Cards. I make a little beaded jewelry. And I scrapbook. Haven't really done any of that since school started this year.

oooo I didn't know that....although since you do Halloween stuff.... the Scooby Doo dress, Edge's #7 Tee-shirt- that"d make sense

I remmeber an article in the last 2 years or so, talking about using - I think it was tucks or something similar to that as design elements in the cloting and not just the straight altering, or as part of the original pattarn.

of course they had photos of wonderful, intersting examples of this!

so what else have you done in this creatve area? :)

I can't believe I just caught up with the thread! I was sure you guys would finish another one before I did. LOL

Ha! Sarah was 19 when she got her beginners, and she let that expire earlier this year without taking the road test. She has little desire to drive. The city where she goes to school has really good public transportation, and as a student, she gets a free bus pass. When she's home, I drive her wherever she wants to go. She wants to do the written test again though, because she mainly wants her license to use as photo ID. For now, all she has is her passport.

DOOOO ITTTTTT! And I say that with no ulterior motive whatsoever. : wink:

:heart : Have fun!

Thanks I did! :cute: My mom was feeling really good so we went out shopping and to lunch. :shifty: That was being bad because she's not really supposed to leave her house under the care program she's in, but meh, we had fun.

And Chelsea, Camille and Sarah are so alike it's scary. Though Chelsea does finally drive now, Camille's permit has expired, but she has her sister to drive her now so she doesn't need it.

Oh they sure are. Nice accent, as well. : shifty: There's a very nice Aussie on this forum actually...

: shh: But don't tell anyone. Ish a sekwit.

:hmm:

Pfsh, automatic cars are for losers. :wink : Gear stick is where it's at!

Taking the ferry sounds really cool! : D I've never had to drive onto a ferry before, we don't have those here. : lol: I'd be scared to do it now!

: shifty: So you're saying you don't know how to handle a stick?

: lol: Ferries are a huge part of life around here, and still are for me, since my parents still live in that area. : D

Hey! I don't call YOU a loser, missy! : wink: I didn't learn stick because the cars my parents had were all automatic. It would have been pointless to learn that if I didn't have a stick car to drive with. It's not very common around here - most people have automatics. : shrug: : )

Driving on that ferry was so horrible the first time - the lanes are really narrow, and you have to park within 2 feet of the car in front of you so that everyone can fit on. Now of course it's no big deal, but I was totally panicked at first.

My first car was a stick. It was a cute little sports car. But it was a pain in the ass stick so I traded it for an automatic. :shifty: And "pain in the ass stick" just sounds way too. :censored:

I've driven on the BC ferries a few times. I loved it! It's been so long ago now though. i miss it there. :(

Oh and I'm an awesome parallel parker. My family calls me the queen of parallel parking. I can squeeze into a spot that's basically no bigger than my car in one try. I am awesome. :shifty: :D

Sorry this stuff is all old conversations now. :reject:

MsTE your posts made me think of this awesomeness.

I'm watching Top Gun on TV right now.  God, this movie cracks me up so damn much. "I want some butts!!" :giggle:

I ADORE this movie. I saw it 3 times in the movie theatre, and used to put it on often when i worked in a video store. I could probably recite most of it.

I am AWESOME at parallel-parking.

Unless there's someone in the car with me, and then I have performance anxiety.

:hi5: on the awesome part. :giggle:

You guys are not going to believe this. I think Toby ate string. :|

Uh oh! :(

I've posted in the cat thread before about how Maurice is an eater. He used to eat EVERYTHING. But he did get better with age.

My friends and I were like whuuuuuuuut??? :scream: Why didn't we know this??

you're very welcome!:hug::hug:

oh yeah!! Altred Tee's rock!

I went to a art/crafts work shop about 4 - 5 years ago, started to learn the T-shirt altering stiff! :D
I've seen that book!
I never really look at it, b/c i learned enough from the workshop to create my own - plus stuff I come up with. Ihaven't done any in a while but i hope to for next summer (more subdued versions when it comes to cutting VS painting, srtampin, beading, thread/yarn embeleshment etc which I could make pretty vivid ).

I also have some lyric & title tee-shirt Art ideas for the NLOTH songs and a few other ealier U2 songs to put on Tee-shirts which I hope i'll be doing up before the summer 2011 tour !

Hello!

Oh, wow, that's an awesome story  :)! Very cool that there's still people like that out there. I honestly think most people would be good enough to do something like that, or at least turn it over to the police and let them take it from there or something. My mom usually is pretty careful with that stuff, it's just that lately she's been working so much and she's just exhausted and I think sometimes her mind just gets so jumbled and then the simplest things sometimes get lost in the shuffle.

But the good news is that she DID find her wallet today! It was sitting at her office, safe and sound, in a tray under her desk where papers that she takes out for recycling normally go. She'd gotten it out for a second yesterday and thought she put it back in her purse, but it must've slipped out or she must've thought she put it in her purse but didn't, or whatever. But now she's got it back and is obviously very happy about that.

Angela

So glad your mom got her wallet back. Yay! I never got mine back after the purse stolen incident. That was a night of total SUCK. My car broke down on a freeway at night. This was the eighties before we had cel phones or call boxes on the freeways. It was so scary and dangerous. I had to climb a chain link fence divider, then cross 4 lanes of freeway. Scariest thing ever. NEVER do it. But I had no choice. So then I was stranded in this area of SD that wasn't the best at night. It's a park on the bay, and it was dark and deserted. I finally walked to the nearest light burning at a closed visitor center. There was a phone booth so luckily I called for help, but I had to sit there and wait. Out of the dark, this guy walks up to me, then passes me and goes to the phone behind me. I was sooo scared. Then he approaches me (I had NO WHERE to go) and he starts to ask if I had forgotten something. I was so scared I had no idea what he was talking about. Then he goes nevermind and asked if I had a cigarette. I said no, but my boyfirend might when he arrives any minute. So dude leaves, and when boyfriend arrives I realize the guy had stolen my purse I left by the phone.

Long lame story I know. :|

Yeah, I can recite most of it too - I've seen it a million times. I have it on VHS, but my VCR is broken, so I can't watch it any more. I really need to buy it on DVD. :tsk:

I switched to watching Grey's Anatomy, though. They've mentioned Bono like 6 times in the episode tonight! :giggle:

bonocomet, your daughter's going to a taping of Craig Ferguson's show next week? LUCKY! I wanna go! Hope she has a good time (didn't know that about the proof of age stuff, though, something to keep in mind if I ever get lucky enough to see a taping).

Well it's now starting to look like their plans are falling though unfortunately. :( I feel bad for them because they were so excited for it. It's an all Doctor Who show with Matt Smith and they are huge fans. They might still go but it's up in the air now.
