I've listened to a little bit of their stuff, but what I have has sounded very samey. I need to give it a little more attention, though.

I like the Decemberists. Just listened to Picaresque last night. My favorite album of theirs. Saw them live a few years back, front row, great show. Meloy is a solid frontman.

I know Imps (currently running around naked through some Texas watering hole in baseball celebration) and Scumbo (it's illegal to be naked, ever, in Utah) both like them, as well.

A. I love the first two Decemberists albums, can tolerate much of the following two, and don't have much to say about the fifth. B. Although I did watch the game at some Texas watering hole with a name dangerously close to "watering hole," I kept my beer soaked Elvis Andrus shirt on.

Not sure you had to drag Impy's girlfriend and her buddies into this, though.

My reaction.

Dirty Work is so underrated.

Oh, and congrats on the Rangers' victory. Is it really true that this is their first ever playoff series win?

Thank you, and yes, it is very true. I'm over the moon right now. If only it were the weekend so I could properly celebrate. Instead I get to brace myself for some good natured verbal sparring with our man NSW and some bad natured ass-hattery from Dray and Mr Pryck.

Cliff Lee can't pitch till game 3!

Ah yes, Cliff Lee. Both you and Imperor have benefited from him. I was born and raised in Cleveland, so it still pains me that the Indians traded him essentially for a case of Gatorade.

Don't forget Gump. Non-ass-hattery there.

Yeah, Gump's a peach. Doesn't hurt that he consistently makes me favorite DI lists.

Sounds like someone is ready to get into it with NSW or myself in a couple weeks.

Aquemini might be my album of the year... when you combine 2010-only albums with every other album i've heard for the first time this year.

that's my posting done for the night. off to watch the latest episode of How I Met Your Mother

OutKast's back catalogue is aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhmayyyyyyyyyyyyyyzing.

Stankonia express.

What's your blow-co-mo-tive?

1. I finally got all three letters of recommendation lined up for graduate schools (PhD, here I fucking come!)

2. Blue Water White Death's album (this is the Jonathan Meiburg/dude from Xiu Xiu collaboration) leaked. I have yet to listen to it, but I'm greatly looking forward to doing so.

Cool vid. Thanks for posting.

I like when he just says "Fuck it" and starts flinging the remaining blood from the cup onto the print.

Laz, I liked when you were posting in the New Album forum. You need to get back on that and drop some knowledge on those fools.

Either he's fleshed out a bit, or that beard is masking his usual state of emaciation.

So I'll say that about this new look, and not say anything about how he's starting to look like my dad. :yikes:

Stipe

Could just be the picture, but it definitely does look like he's put on a few.

Supposedly they have the new album coming out in a couple months. I'm going to catch them on their next tour, without question, no matter the price. They are easily my favorite band that I have yet to see live.

I'm bummed I didn't catch them when they toured for Accelerate, but the options were Sasquatch (pass) and an outdoor, all-GA show in Vancouver, and I didn't want to drive all the way up there and be stuck in the back and potentially in the rain.

I saw them on their Around the Sun tour (the show made me appreciate some of those songs more, and they played some great old tracks) at a small theater where operas are typically held, and that was a great venue.

Hope they make it through Seattle whenever they come around next.

I've still never seen them live, as I didn't want to see them on a tour for an album I refused to buy (Around the Sun).

:(
