Kaf - I went to the Whole Life Expo at the MTCC this evening - got a shiatu massage for the first time. Not your typical massage but it did the trick :drool:

Never given or received one and I'm not that familiar with it. The only other forms of energy work I've had have been reflexology and reiki. Have you ever had any other kind of massage?
 
I'm up before 8am on a weekend, and I don't have anything to be awake at this hour for. :happy: I guess that's what happens when you go to bed ridiculously early the night before. :lol:

I didn't realize it was energy work until I started feeling all these strange sensations throughout my body and asked her what was happening to me.
I had reflexology once and was so blown away by my first reiki treatment that I promptly signed up to get my first degree. I rarely use it anymore, though :shrug:

My favourite kind of 'regular' massage is the deep-tissue one.

I have one of those shiatsu massage seats - heaven, I tell you!

Wow, that's amazing! I made a believer out of someone who suffered from asthma a few years ago - she was so impressed she signed up for the classes as well.

Have you had shiatsu? After returning home last night, I felt emotional and experienced all these cold-like symptoms - did some research and apparently that's normal as it's a sign the toxins are exiting your body.
 
Oh very cool!! Well, if you ever need a healing, let me know! With Level 2, I can even do it long distance.

I actually haven't had shiatsu, but I've wanted to! The symptoms afterwards is very interesting, but I guess it makes sense. Sometimes after a sort of cleansing centering, I cry. It's not so much of a boo hoo, but more of a release.

What made you decide to get one? Did you go to a friend? Was it recommended? How was it different from regular massage?
 
It's so quiet in here!

Mia - I went to the Whole Life Exhibition at the Toronto Convention Centre on Friday night. They were offering reiki, shiatsu, and various other forms of massage, amongst other things. Sounds like the expo would have been right up your alley :yes:
