GG, so you have it in your possesion right now?
:shifty: Why so? Are you gonna come over?

:grumpy: Stupid Zoots. If he only managed to hold out we'd have sex with the liner notes together tonight.

I know . . .its so lovely in here :D
:D Definately! And everyone's nice and not OMG YOU ARE SO WRONG!!!!

WHAT ARE YOU TRYING TO PROVE?!?!?!

i've heard it, and have decided not to pay for it. 68 bucks lol, take it right in the ass!
Uh, we're trying to prove to ourselves that we have self control?
You haven't read a fucking post in this thread now have ya? We're not trying to prove anything, we just want the whole experience instead of downloading some low q shite and play it on a computer.

That I'm better than you, that's what. And I think I've done that quite handily. ;)

 I think he prove that by himself.

Exactly. We are pleasure delayers....it will soooo be worth the wait.

Still waiting to hold that cd for it's first listen (though I have now heard Magnificent at Regent Street today )

geez people i can kinda understand not yet being aware of torrents, but a cd burner...come on! also cd quality audio is available

I am fully aware of torrents, and use them frequently. My CD burner gets loads of use.

My wanting to wait until I have the CD has nothing to do with any of that.

So what. For alot of us waiting it has nothing to do with that. Most of us just wanna experience Chistmas day on Christmas day you know what I mean. It's a choice. It's not right or wrong but Ido know this; Anyone who's already listend to the album will never have the same feeling those of us who waited will have when we pick up the disc for the first time and hear it for the first time with the booklet in our hands the days it's released. To wait 4+ years for a new album only to listen to it a few weeks or even days before doesn't make sense for me personally. I like to wait. Some don't care. To each their own. The album relase is a dieing art. Think of it like those of us who are waiting are traditionalists.

100% dead on. We gots 3 more days to go!!!!!!!!

the feeling of having to wait longer? i don't covet this feeling, nor do i covet the feeling of holding paper in my hands while listening, have fun rehashing old discussions that have been had, when u finally allow urself to hear it.

Well goody fucking gumdrops for you. This obviously is not the thread for you. I'm going to listen to this album when I'm God damned good and ready to listen to it, and not when some poster who obviously lacks the ability to understand that other people feel and think differently thinks I should.

haha yeah, what the hell?

and i also agree 100% with this

if you want to just grab the album first chance you get when it leaks online then good for you. Some of us just like waiting for the actual day and there's nothing wrong with it. I don't like downloading music and I'm one of the many people here who still feels the whole experience of buying the album on release day, taking it home and hearing it for the first time is THE way. :hmm:

it's not about 'Oh U2 would HATE us to download it early' before anyone suggests that, some of us just like to wait and when that album comes out I'll be going straight to Fopp to pick it up the double LP and maybe the CD if I feel so inclined.

That said...I'm STILL hoping Sainsbury's will have put it out early like that Franz Ferdinand album :reject: even if they did I wouldn't get the chance to listen to it tonight anyway :sexywink:

Then why are you in this thread?

The people here WANT that feeling. THEY want it. WHO CARES if YOU don't want it.

Go to a different thread if you don't like what's being said here, but stop taking this thread offtopic. This thread is meant for people holding out, not for those who want to talk trash about them or talk them into listening.

Anyway, how are you guys holding out?

What she said :madwife:!!

I'm doin good. I was tempted to listen to the rooftop version of Magnificent but I didn't. I'm gonna keep listening to NLOTH2. I've probably heard it 30 times now and it hasn't gotten old yet. I keep finding out new things about it when I hear it again and it strikes me in a different way.

Anyway, how are you guys holding out?

not bad. Getting pretty excited to be honest. FINALLY. :hyper:

I've gone and listened to so many new bands and got into so much different stuff since the last album and the lack of any new U2 just got dull and now the new album's out in only two days! I was still in secondary school when the last one came out. I'm at uni now, I feel fucking old.

but yeah, avoided all live stuff, videos, not listened to No Line 2 on the Boots single. Quite impressed with myself. this album better not suck. I remember listening to Miracle Drug when the last album leaked and feeling pretty disappointed, then I thought the album was pretty weak on first listen. NONETHELESS i'm excited!

You're a loser. plain and simple. The fact that you're concerned with us waiting speaks volumes. Have fun being bitter and negative towards everything in life that you don't understand.

Personally I'm holding out just fine. I have a few new My Morning Jacket albums as well as some Buckethead stuff I just picked up to tide me over. And by the way to anyone who know's who Buckethead is but basically wrote him off because he's weird with the mask and KFC bucket as well as being Slash's replacement in Gn'R. DO NOT let that fool you. Here's a sample of some of his stuff from his albums Colma and Electric Tears to help occupie yourself untill NLOTH. It's some of the most beautiful music ever.

Whitewash - Colma

Watching the Boats with my Dad - Colma

Completely agree - I want to savour that moment of official release of each album (though I only do this for a dew artists, most I would listen to the leak). We've waited 4 years for it, another week or 2 isn't hard. Can't wait to Monday

Still waiting to hold that cd for it's first listen (though I have now heard Magnificent at Regent Street today :drool : )

I was there too. :hyper::love::hyper: It was awesome. Where were you stood, i was on the church steps.

I am also still holding out for the album on Monday aswell. Can't wait. :hyper:

My cds have arrived. :applaud: but as you know I'm not listening til Monday til I can give my friends their copies and we can all listen together.:hyper: Am suprisingly calm about it all actually.....haha:lol: so I'll be staying here with you guys for a couple more days yet

Only 30 times? In my holding out time I had it on repeat on my ipod, playcount 187 now! I LOVE that song!

:uhoh: I'm not holding out anymore.. the album was out here yesterday.

:D But I've been here so long, I feel like I should support you guys for the remaining few days.
I don't really have an opinion on the album yet anyway, it's too early for that.

Don't worry about dissapointment mate, I PROMISE you it's worth it. You won't be dissapointed.

There are quite a few different songs on it, typical U2, but different styles. There's a slow song on it that has beauty in its simplisticness, and there are a few uptempo rockers on it. I don't believe it if anyone told me there's NO song they like on there!

Tho IMO it should've ended with NLOTH2, that's my only dissapointment!

Yeah even when I get the album I'm totally coming in here first with you guys:wave: It's like one big family:hug:

Thanks GG  :D

So you haven't formed an opinion on the album as yet? I know what you mean, generally takes me a while sometimes a few listens before I even sort out what I think of a new CD

Well, people started asking me immediately what I think about the album. But I don't think I can judge that from the first listen.
Just check the various HTDAAB threads, people LOVED it in the first week, then gradually it got worse and worse. That's another reason why I refused to listen to the leak, I didn't want to get caught in the hype. I want time to develop my own opinions.
Which already differ from the rest a lot, by the way. Many people LOVE Moment of Surrender apparently, while it already bores me after 2 or 3 listens. Ah well, can't help what I like or dislike.

Ofcourse it's a great album since it's new U2, and it's definately better than the last two, it's got a more JT/AB vibe to it rather than the unpolished raw sounds of the last two. That's pretty nice.

After all, I'm glad I waited. I posted a huge post of my first moment opinions when I listened to the album the first time, and I"ll read that post again in a week or so, after having the album on repeat on my ipod(With NLOTH2 added ofcourse!). I'm interested in the difference of my own opinions.
