News - Bono Story Update - 18/09/2006
A great update to yesterday's Bono story…
Open All Night reports that Bono was upset that the audience of celebrities and supermodels chattered during Damien's performance, and told them to "Take your f--ing finger food and f--k off” if they couldn't quieten down.
If anyone has more photos from the night, we'd love to see them!
News - Bono Introduces Damien - 17/09/2006
Damien gave a small performance in New York last Friday and was introduced by Bono.
Bono said: "What you're about to hear and see is like being at a Bob Dylan gig in the early Sixties or a Cat Stevens gig in the early Seventies or James Taylor, or something extraordinary.
Damien Rice is able to still and distill the storms into quiet reflection. He's really a remarkable talent, I can't quite believe that he's here. I'm very humbled and very honoured and I would ask New York to give him the kind of welcome only New York, only Manhattan can, and then give him the silence he deserves because this is something very special."
NME reports that Damien was in New York to help promote the ONE campaign to Make Poverty History and Ali Hewson's ethical clothing comopany, Edun.
