i don't know about places to eat down there but there is an El Fenix restaurant really close, i think on the corner of houston street and 35. might even be doable by walking there during the day.

although i don't know if i want really heavy mexican food before standing in GA for hours

i hate taking friends with me to concerts that aren't huge fans....because my friend doesn't want to get there early, we won't be coming until 2-3 pm. the good news is, mst people won't show up until around 6pm when they let they doors open.

i'll probably be there as early as i'm awake and feel like it lol. probably sometime between 7-8am but possibly earlier.

it all depends on when eebz gets here. she's driving up from houston after the show there friday night, probably won't get here till about 2 or 4am. we might try to get a little shut eye when she gets here. i have a feeling i won't be able to sleep though and we'll end up getting to the arena pretty early

not for rain but for the sun.
i burn really easy and i don't know how shady that side of the building will be.

You won't know until you scan where you are going to end up. You could waltz in at 8:30 and get the lucky Vertigo scan then you will be inside the ellipse. If you don't scan lucky then it is not that bad at the back and there is lots of room back there.

Oh and I suppose I need to add my name + 10 guest for the GA list.

I guess I'm the lonely super u2 fan of the group. If one of them ,specifically the one who isn't really a fan, gets the lucky ellipse band I might have to ....

another pain story - After 21 years, I was finally taking my shot at meeting Bono by gettting to the arena early and hoping he got out to meet and greet. Was set to get there around noon and wait then walk to the West End to hang out until show time. Now comes word that I wont be able to drop my kids early with a relative due to an illness. Son of a B_ _ _! Murhphy's Law strikes again. So now, its strickly show only and right home afterwards. We'll, at least I'm going. Psyched to see them again but wanted this to be special day. Sounds like many of you have GA tickets so I dont think I'll be talking to you much but good luck getting into the ellipse.

well i called the AA center back again today like they said to.
the guy i talked to was just filling in for the lady who works there when she went for a cup of coffee.
he didn't have anything new to report.
and i asked about cameras, he looked it up on the computer and said no cameras or recording divices.
i still find that hard to imagine for U2.
if anyone else finds out differently please let us know!
i won't be able to call the AA center back today cuz i have to leave for work soon.

I called too-pretty much the same thing. No lining up before 8 AM. At first she said the east doors but then was corrected by a coworker that we should lineup at the South Doors. No cameras Hopefully that is just their standard disclaimer.

Granted this was a couple years ago, but when I lined up for Bruce in 2002, the venue security did honor the fan line. That is generally a big plus! They also gave us a chance to leave the line to put things back in our car so I guess that would be a good time to stash the cameras if we have to.
