I have no idea why NESN got rid of Orsillo. He and Remy were so good together.

At least Orsillo landed on his feet in a much nicer climate.

Jacob deGrom’s ERA is currently lower than his batting average. It’s like he’s cheating at MLB The Show while playing on rookie difficulty.

This Dodgers/Padres series has been fun to watch. Tatis Jr. with back to back 2 HR games. Feels like this is going to be a good rivalry for years to come.

It's awesome having Gerrit Cole pitch for the Yankees. He's is easily their best player right now. Things are starting to turn around for the Yankees. April baseball can get ugly at times.

Everything is fine GIF.

Quote:
There have been five seasons in which baseball teams averaged fewer than eight hits per game. Three of those came at the peak of the deadball era—1907, 1908 and 1909. One came with the historically low offenses in the “Year of the Pitcher”—1968. And the final season, with the fewest hits of all, is this one—2021.
Quote:
That shouldn’t necessarily be surprising; over the last two decades, batting averages has been dropping, while strikeouts have been spiking. But the way these trends have accelerated this year is notable. As broadcaster Boog Sciambi pointed out earlier this week on Twitter, the current league batting average would qualify as the lowest in history, and other relevant statistics here are equally dramatic. Home runs have fallen—likely due in part to the new baseball—but strikeouts are up by so much that the three true outcomes now make up a record percentage of plate appearances. (That would be 36.5%, whereas a decade ago, that figure had never crossed 30%.) Teams are averaging more than a strikeout per inning for the first time ever. And if you set aside strikeouts to focus just on when hitters do make contact—it’s now rarer for that contact to turn into hits, with a year-over-year decrease in hard-hit percentage, and the lowest BABIP since 1989.

Petition to make the Mets and Phillies play a 162 game season. Those games are hilarious.

Four steps to add offense back to baseball:

1. Remove the lefty strike
2. Remove the high strike
3. Lower the mound
4. Enforce banned substance usage

It's lovely to lose two generationally talented outfielders to devastating injuries before mid-May.

Fuck.

If players had the guts to hit the ball the other way when that happens, teams would be more reluctant to use it. But players are stubborn about it and just wanna hit it over the shift. Killed Mark Texiera's batting average.

NYY fans finally giving the 'Stros some Bronx love with their venom especially aimed for Altuve. They should have inflatable trash can night at the Stadium.
