We've had extremely well-educated people in charge for a while now, and things have only gotten worse.
do you think that the USA is a better or worse place to live in than it was 50 years ago?

please don't ask that, i know the answer is going to hurt my brain.do you think that the USA is a better or worse place to live in than it was 50 years ago?

It depends on what we're talking about.
My point was that we've had extremely well-educated people serve as presidents and cabinet secretaries for a long time, and the idea that they are inherently better leaders solely because of their lengthy formal education is wrong if not kind of dangerous.

You are indeed right that a lengthy formal education is not the only thing to judge leaders on.My point was that we've had extremely well-educated people serve as presidents and cabinet secretaries for a long time, and the idea that they are inherently better leaders solely because of their lengthy formal education is wrong if not kind of dangerous.
One day, America will have a president who looks exactly like Michael Douglas in 'Falling Down'.

Wake up, sheeple!
Most of the people who believe this are liberals.
most??Most of the people who believe that are crazy.
Actually there are quite a lot of 'libertarian'-leaning conservatives, such as Ron Paul's groupies via Alex Jones, who are 9/11 truthers. Not that they're anything resembling GOP-mainstream conservatives, but they could hardly be called liberals. Of course most liberals who are into that are hardly mainstream Democrats either. Most of the people who believe this are liberals.
I wholeheartedly disagree with DT's ideology, trickle down economics is a failure. Greed rules the day when it comes to CEO's using their power to hire or not. Just look at what is happening now. They are sitting on piles of MONEY we the tax payers gave them, but they won't hire because they are blackmailing Obama imo, since any type of regulation scares the crap out of them. God forbid we reign in the "profit at any cost" mantra. I am not saying profit is bad, I am saying there needs to be balance. The rich getting richer is not balance. Here's a fun fact for you. Did you know that there are 400 individuals in this country who own more in assets than 1/2 the population of the USA COMBINED?? Ya... that's right! 4 HUNDRED people. That's it!
We need a strong middle class to keep the engine running in the economy. But what do I know? I am not economist, but this seems like common sense to me.
