3 Irishmen and a Dutchman Walk Into A Sphere - General Discussion Thread Part III

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Hey guys, the folks who couldn't figure out what size bag to bring into the venue for 6 months are going to file a class action lawsuits against Live Nation because it took too long to enter the building with their pricey VIP tickets.

So in other words that caused them not to get a spot where they could see Bono's nose hair?

Talk about entitlement

Buzz has been built and I’m sure some folks who would’ve never considered going are now very interested but it’s secondary market or nothing. Announcing additional dates now would let them slowly drip out 3 shows at a time until demand is again met. Question is when do Phish/Eagles get officially announced?

It wouldn’t be a U2 run of shows without a late announcement of a new last show date, which thereby disrupts the plans of all of those people who like to attend the opener and closer. Honolulu? Moncton? What else? :hmm:

In the house tonight, cannot WAIT! Unspoiled and super stoked.

Also — really love that the music that plays in the background when you’re anywhere outside of the main room are these super vibey low-fi remixs of U2 songs smashed together… really nice touch.

I may have a problem, guys. Hopefully, someone could shed some light on this.

I got my Vibee email yesterday regarding my GA tickets for the 10/27 show.

They're telling me that my tickets have been released to my "Sphere Account Manager".

I logged into the Account Manager homepage using my TM credentials, and then clicked on "Manage Tickets" to go to My Events.

At that point, the website gave me the message "You don’t have tickets to any upcoming events".

Did I do something wrong?

Does anyone know what happened to my tickets?

Just got back from our trip. We had Wed. 10/11 GA. We did the # wristband thing. Showed up at 7:30am to a fairly lengthy looking sidewalk line. I was guessing we were gonna be 400+ or worse. Turns out we got #s 272-274. Nice for us. Went to Peppermill for breakfast and returned to the venue at 4:30. Please be aware that the emails say 5:30, but the venue staff say be back by 5 SHARP. They start organizing the que by groups of 10. If you are late, you won't be allowed to cut back in to your number, have to join the group of 10 thats currently queing. Several people lost their spots on 10/11 for showing up just 10 or 15 minutes after5pm. We got a great spot in front of Edge about 5ish people from the rail. Loved the show. Band was on point, Bono was the best I've heard him maybe since 2011 360. Loved it so much, my daughter and I snagged literally last minute(8pm) Friday 10/13 Vivid tix. The seller never sent the tix and left us standing at the gate while my daughter pleaded with Vivid on a chat. They actually came through and replaced our 308 row 8 seats with dead center(almost) 305 row 6 (which we found out was row 1 of that section) right at 8:25pm. We rushed in and up the escalators and got to our seats about1 minute before they took the stage. INCREDIBLE seats. Fantastic view. Another epic show. They are seriously having fun onstage, the crowd is giving them energy. No sleepwalking through songs. LOVE LOVE LOVE this show.

I really want to go back, but I just don't see the opportunity. We'll see what the extension looks like - if it's just a few shows in January or if they extend a few weekends stretching into the spring.

If Larry is truly out for 2024 I'd love if they would come back in the fall. I want to get back inside that venue.

A word of caution to anyone with a spare GA. I was unable to do the face value sell back with my 1 extra because I kinda forgot about until show day. When I tried to sell it back to TM, the option was greyed out. After much back and forth on twitter with TM reps, it was determined that within 24 hours of showtime is too late. First they blamed the fan club tix being restricted, then they said they couldn't assist me because I bought them thru Tickets Today (fan club) (also owned by TM) Then finally they said I waited too long. Anyway, I ended up eating an extra GA. :|

If you're in town on a show day and don't have tix, That's when you want to hit zoo station. At 7pm on Friday 10/13, it was me, my daughter, and like 4 other people that weren't workers. Pics and merch shopping in utter peace. Also, if you exit a show onto Sands Ave. and walk back to the strip, there are nice looking $20 T shirts to be had if you find the dudes in the mob of people.

Laz!

I am forever in debt to you. Your Treasure Island parking tip was perfect. We got there at about 3:45 and got a great spot on the third level. Getting out of the garage was (relatively) not a problem. So  to you!

:applaud:

Damn, I didn't expect the boot shirts to be there the first weekend so I didn't look too hard, but I wish I could go back for that. 2 shirts for $70 feels better than only having 1 for $50. :|

That's sold info, thanks.
May change my decision on banding. Getting back by 5 sharp is no bueno. Looking to grab something to eat before the show. Figured it would be the opposite, the email says 5:30, but assumed if you got there before 6 you could just claim your numbered spot.

Yeah, once they started sending groups of 10 into the cattle pens, if you missed your # they made you join the current group. Seemed a little unfair considering there was over an hour till doors. Several people tried to cut back in, but they all got caught and send back out to the cattle gate. Another note, all those internet tough guys who said they were walking right past the fan line at 8am........ yeah, that wasn't happening either. There wasn't a big ordeal on Wednesday, but I saw security escort a few people to the back of the line.

I am so excited for this show. Really appreciating the tips on this thread too. Love seeing some familiar names I've haven't seen in awhile too (Mrs. Springsteen, Martha etc)

If the email address you used with you Vibee purchase is not the same email address you use for your TM account, you will need to create a new TM account with the email that matches the Vibee purchase. Guess who is now the “proud” owner of two TM accounts because of this exact issue?

Same here. I'm thrilled I was able to make at least two of them. But the experience has left me wanting to go back!

On Friday, I did see three or so people crawl back through their line to get to their "wristband" spot at the doors, after the initial groups went through. I don't think anyone objected, but obviously your mileage could vary.

No, it took an additional day to show up in the Sphere Account Manager for me. Hopefully same for you. Vibee buggy af.

I did that on Saturday (9/30). The security held me up about 100 past my number for like 30 min before finally realizing as people were starting to go in that I "should" be ahead, and let me go back to my numerical spot. Sounds like they're less accomcdating now.

I wouldn't even bother with the wristband thing. I actually had it, because the staff asked me if I was interested in getting one when I was roaming around the Sphere at around 2pm. I said why not, since I am already there. It was a pretty high number (614 I think), and I got back to the entrance at about 5:30 (as per instructions), but by that point the queue was already way too long .

Anyways, I got in, had a great spot on Edge's side, and it was quite close to the stage. The only thing I missed out on was Bono's nose hair or something. If you want to be close but not on the rail, I'd say it is not really worth the effort of getting a wristband.

i'm not going to say that there's NO reason to get a wristband, or do the GA list thing... but there's next to no reason.

if you want to be within 5 feet of the rail? sure - you need to do that. you want to be within 10 feet dead center? yup, go get a wristband.

if that's not a necessity? enjoy your sleep and enjoy the town.

truly - you can get very close without waiting at all.

this was my spot for night 2. i left the bar at Venetian at 6:30. got in line just before 7 pm, and made a stop at the Sphere bar before even heading out there.

obviously the more center you want to be, the earlier you need to get there. but if you want to be close and don't have a problem being side stage? yea you're good. i probably could have gotten there closer to 8 and still been pretty close to where i ultimately ended up. nobody really filled in behind me until well into the DJ set.

Sort of similar for me. I flew in early Friday morning and went to the Sphere just to check it out and get some pictures. I figured if I was already there, I might as well do the wristband deal if they were still offering that, and ended up getting something a little bit above 400. That resulted in a place about six rows back from the center, which was fine by me.

I also brought a decent camera with me, so a closer spot is beneficial if you want to get some great shots of the band members. I also chuckled when I saw a guy in front of me who was able to bring in a big Nikon Mirrorless camera, which the venue policy specifically asked you NOT to bring. Hopefully it worked out for him, but I was content with my one-inch point and shoot!

I did do the List deal afterward, but more from the perspective of "Eh, why not?" than anything else. It was also nice talking to some of the hard core fans the next morning when we were waiting, which is a cool part of the whole fan experience for me. And that was fairly easy when you had the rest of the morning and afternoon to do whatever else before heading back.

I did get the feeling that Saturday filled up a bit more quickly towards the stage, but that may also be because it was technically a weekend show, where more people might've been gunning towards a close spot. But like you and everyone else has said, there isn't a "bad" spot on the floor at all, and it really comes down to whether you want to be super close or be content wherever you're at. And the sides certainly don't fill up as much as the others (which might work out better anyway if you're an Edge or Adam fan, as the views of them there are pretty swell). Overall, neither is a bad option!

I will say too that the whole "get a wristband, and come back at 5" deal is a welcome change to waiting all day. So if you are eager on getting close and still enjoying the city during the day, it's certainly possible to do both.
