Has anyone noticed that on Wikipedia, some of the attendance figures for some shows have been changed? Barcelona, London, Landover, and Dallas attendance figure have all increased. Is there any reason for the discrepancy? I know Wikipedia is not the most reliable source.....but still.

that makes sense....if they match this year's gross next year, plus the additional gross from the anticipated SA and Australian legs, then the tour should end up in the range of $650 million, so plus merchandise would be around $750 million.

2010 Leg Announcement on u2.com now - TOUR DATES - Part III

omg, are you serious? the newspaper that reported the on-sale date should've double-checked their facts, they caused a lot of people grief.

Yes, I had mentioned her when it was asked who would "claim the throne" of touring after U2 and the Rolling Stones in the thread about stadium tours. Most people shot it down as an unremarkable feat, since she was not the first female to play stadiums. However, she has been able to do it after...

Oh, sorry, I meant she's the only the second female act in North America....but still, it's pretty impressive.

Although this is non-U2 related, I thought it would be worth mentioning that Taylor Swift will be playing Gillette Stadium on June 5. That is an incredible feat considering she has only had two albums out. I believe that makes her only the second female artist to headline a stadium concert, next...

2010 Leg Announcement on u2.com now - TOUR DATES - Part II

Of the cities you mentioned, Minneapolis and Salt Lake City are the most definite contenders. I'm sure you've already noticed on the forums about the rumor at the Gophers' stadium in Minneapolis....so that seems to be a definite possibility. I would be absolutely thrilled if they came to Austin...

Well, they managed to pull in 35,000 in Moncton...i don't think they should have too much trouble selling out Edmonton.

Well, I can name one: The Rolling Stones. They pulled in about 53000. But I guess that is an unfair comparison.

2010 Leg Announcement on u2.com now - TOUR DATES - Part II

Well, with the new Live Nation deal, they won't really have a choice but to tour. The deal is through 2020. But of course, that's good for us! (and for them also, even if it means more work, its $100 million dollars)

That was a free show on New Year's Eve..and well that was in South America, but only records in North America are being discussed.

Well, I don't think Billboard can really make that assumption. Barbra Streisand was the only performer at this show, and it was marketed to be her "farewell" concert. Certainly that had an effect, but Billboard cannot exclude it based on that presumption. It wasn't really a party, it was an...

Yeah, I was at the Dallas show too! Yeah, same here, GA tickets, so no problems with the sound there. I was about three rows behind the outer circle. What about you?

The list of U.S. grosses is also totally inaccurate. According to Pollstar: Top North American Concert Grosses of All Time Barbra Streisand has the actual highest grossing single engagement with $14.6 million at the MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 31, 1999.......which is well after 1991.

yeah, i attended my first ever U2 show this tour...and it was AWESOME!!!! :hyper: ....i hope they do arenas on the next tour, so that way i have a good comparison.

Ok, well i'm sorry you were stuck in a clusterfuck........but don't make it seem like U2 are the only money-grubbing artists around. At least they don't charge $500 like the Rolling Stones and Madonna.

Well, I just don't see what the point was of mentioning how they did not do as well as back in 1992, and making an assumption about their arrogance....and what are you doing on this forum anyways? i thought maoil was crazy.....but i notice moggio is on as well :hmm:
