the giants are actually still alive for the playoffs... and it's not totally crazy that they make it.

which is somewhat insane.

Yeah, I think the Vikings (current 7th seed) are likely to not be a playoff team, so it'll be interesting to see who takes advantage. It'll come down to who gets hot.

yea i mean the giants suck - but the final schedule here... it's not daunting.

12/11 - packers
12/17 - @ saints
12/25 - @ eagles
12/31 - rams
1/7 eagles

don't get me wrong - the giants could EASILY lose all of these games. they're not good. but they could also win every one of these games with the exception of christmas day against philly - as there's an above average chance that the eagles sit most of the team on 1/7.

i hope they lose every game because i think the draft pick is more important - but the NFL is pretty bad right now.

Well they did beat the Falcons with him and hung with Houston, they're 1-2, so there's hope, but they have a brutal final 5 games (@ PIT, bye, vs. SF, @ CHI, @ PHI, vs. SEA)
Have to hope maybe they can beat Da Bears and/or the Seahawks.

Pats will end up drafting 3rd, Bears (thanks to Panthers) will draft Caleb Williams, Cards will draft Harrison Jr., then Belichick will draft a guard.

I'm curious what the Bears will do. Fields is quite an athlete and has shown flashes, but the play calling has been atrocious. Hopefully Fields lights it up down the stretch because I think if they kept him and added Harrison Jr and the top tackle, that's pretty damn good.

Or that could be just wishful thinking on my part so we have a shot at Williams.

Wonder what GAF thinks...

I've been listening to a lot of NFL media, and the thing that irritates me the most is the discourse (for lack of a better term) about quarterbacks: they're either an MVP candidate or a bum who needs to be jettisoned immediately. I don't understand why Chicago would bail on a guy who has potential and could be supplemented dramatically in the upcoming draft for a college QB who could completely bomb. It is entirely possible to be competitive with a slightly above average quarterback if you build wisely around him.

How they didn't call PI on that mugging of Valdez-Scantling is mind blowing. Probably the 2nd most egregious non-call of Pass Interference this century after the Rams/Saints NFC Championship game.

Good win for my Cardinals, good effort but just came up short for my Panthers.

It was probably a make up call for the ridiculous Unnecessary Roughness call 2 plays before that.

there's a thin line between "good teams win close games" and "you're winning so many one score games that inevitably you're going to regress to the mean" and i'm not sold which side of that coin Philly is on.

Their Defense doesn't scare me like I thought it would.

I do think that SF is most likely the team coming out of the NFC, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Philly, Dallas, or Detroit. I think my Packers are probably still a bit young to actually make a deep run this year, but damn, 2 really impressive wins in a row. If they come rolling in in the playoffs, they will most likely have either won 8 in a row or 7 of their last 8, and I don't think any team would want to play them.

Also, I think Tyreek Hill should win MVP.

LOL WTF Sean McDermott

I mean, holy shit.

"You guys need to work together like the terrorists did on 9/11" (Paraphrasing).

Dude should have been fired that day.

Does he reference emulating Hitler and Mussolini in QB meetings>

Idi Amin with the D-line?

Headache. Tell me about the Giants. Everyone here in cheeseland is feeling great about this game but I’m always cautious with my optimism.

our quarterback eats chicken cutlets and lives with his mom and dad.

the defense is pretty good. if we had a functioning offensive line i think they'd actually be pretty good. but we don't (although it's gotten marginally better as the year has progressed).

they're still fighting, even with the awful start to the season. their schedule was more or less the opposite of the eagles and cowboys - where it was harder earlier and now it's getting easier. not that they're as good as either of those teams (they aren't) but the poor record is partly a product of the rough schedule to start the season. if it were flipped, they'd probably be closer to .500 right now and fans would think they had a better shot at the playoffs (only to be disappointed when they had a bad end to the season because the schedule got hard)

it's not a gimmie by any stretch for you guys, even though you're playing better.

you'll probably win but i don't expect the giants to just roll over. unlike with judge - they do seem to genuinely like brian daboll and play hard for him.

I saw that about him living with his parents. That's actually all kinds of awesome. I think it will be a good game too. I'm warning my friends that this isn't going to be a blowout and could actually be a nail biter.

Reminded me of the AFC Championship against the Pats when Dee Ford lined up offsides and nullified an interception. They whined that there was no warning then either.

Maybe you should just, you know, coach your players not to do that.

There's always the tried-and-true sports cliche of a team should avoid putting themselves in a position to rely on one play to save you. You've got to take advantage of other opportunities. It shouldn't come down to a TD being called back due to a penalty. The ref made the right call.

The Bills really came together to overcome the Chiefs. At one point, I thought they were being coached by Osama Bin Ladin, that's how impressive they looked.

i really don't understand their whole "nobody warned us" argument.

like... bro, look to the right. when you see the football behind your toes, move back.

I'll tell you one thing and I'm not ashamed to say it, my estimation of Patrick Mahomes as a man just fucking plummeted.
