I don't know. I think that's the kicker. It says release date 6/3, but we'll see when it actually ships.

It wouldn't surprise me if it's wrong, since they have the content listed as "to be determined" and the price is probably wrong, so why wouldn't they have the release date wrong, too?

After doing a bunch of investigating, I found out some things. Evidently when this originally was announced and preorders started, Fanfire/Live Nation/U2.com showed the price as $39.95. A bunch of people ordered it at this price, and then later they all received emails stating that their orders had been canceled because the box set was being changed or having additional items added to it, which meant a price increase. The price then jumped to $112.95, which is the current price through Fanfire. Why Live Nation now has the cheap price again is a mystery, but I'm guessing an error, and I won't really be surprised if those of us that ordered today get some order cancellation emails in the near future. I hope not, but I won't be surprised.

I do know that many people were very upset about the situation and fired off mad emails threatening to boycott, report to the BBB, etc. Perhaps Live Nation has decided to honor the original price (doubt it, but we can hope).

That's what I'm trying to find out. Do you know how long ago they placed the orders, and how long after that they were cancelled?

Like I said, it seems that we could make a valid case of "you were aware of the mistake x number of days/weeks ago, you had adequate time to change the page and yet you didn't - this reeks of shiftiness on your part" to Live Nation.

Who knows if it would have any effect, but it's a valid complaint, and it's worth a try. That said, I'm not going to get all bent out of shape if it gets and remains cancelled, I'm sort of expecting that to happen, anyway.

After watching the UK Broadcast last night, the picture quality was surprisingly poor. As someone else said, very dark and grainy, and thats for the blu-ray. The sound wasn't excellent neither. I think it would be miles better watching this on my computer than my TV, which is of course is a shame.

Check your orders!

I just checked and Live Nation has no record of my order, despite sending me a confirmation email. I wrote them and am awaiting their response. I'll report back what they tell me.

Keeping my fingers crossed it's just a glitch.

I have watched the blu ray with a 5.1 dts hd receiver and it is by far the best sounding concert I haver heard on blu ray or dvd.

There is a difference between HD and blu ray.

The HD broadcast was nearly certainly sourced from the blu ray, though.

not really, HD broadcasts in 720p use "DVD up-scaling" (or something like that), because it's closer to 720p from DVD's 576p than to BD's 1080p quality. What kind of HDTV was it? 720p or 1080p?
I know from my DVD the show looks great, better than Chicago or Slane.

The HD broadcast and the blu ray would have been sourced from the same master tapes of the concert. If the master tapes were good quality and sufficient effort was put into creating the blu ray then it should be superior to the HD broadcast. I emphasize "should".
But I dont believe the HD broadcast is sourced from the blu ray.

Blu-ray or not, you still expect a really good picture, like all there past DVD's have. Last night on the broadcast though, it was just really blurry, and not to mention extremely dark, though thats down to the editing.

I caved to the pressure. :reject: (The same Item # Code convinced me.)

I'm convinced now that it's the same item. I think our only concern now is whether they'll actually honor the price or cancel the orders. My credit card HAS been charged already...

Mine's the same, however I did read somewhere on the Live Nation site that pre-orders for items may not show up.

They all placed their orders when the dvd was first announced - I forget --April? Then the cancellation emails started coming sometime around 15th of May, but in those emails it stated that the "redesigned" and repriced box set would be available to preorder within 24 hours. It seems there would be a valid complaint if they cancel orders again, but I don't know if I'll feel like fighting with them.

I just put an order through Live Nation for the Super Box Set. Hopefully they'll honor that price.

And to think I paid $20 for the Tour Program which is included in this set....:|

Just wondering what's going on with the CD style encasing shown on the amazon product photo below:

U2 360 At The Rose Bowl 2DVD Deluxe Edition 2010: Amazon.co.uk: U2: DVD

Suprisingly, I don't mind how it's packaged, just seems very out of the norm in regards to U2's other DVD's.

Hey, that kind of reminds me of the Killers live DVD I got last year...that showed up with the case completely shattered. Guess I'm not going for the 2DVD set. :crack:

is the delay for the super duper deluxe due to the content on the vinyl?

I'd doubt it's the content that's causing the delay, as they've obviously had a studio version of Kingdom/Soon ready since last summer. My guess is that it has something to do with pressing the vinyl taking longer than manufacturing the DVD/Blu-Ray discs.

(This is, of course, assuming that the vinyl is Kingdom/Soon, and not a super-stealthy-awesome-ninja release of EBW or the like.)

But this isn't 100% true, because my credit card has already been charged...

So yeah, the 6/3 date on LiveNation was wrong. Sounds like that's in line with the 6/22 date on the other sites for the US.

I ordered the DVD from Live Nation yesterday, and got the "your item is on backorder" email this morning as well. I don't know if my credit card has been charged yet or not, as it takes several days for charges to appear in my online banking.
