i drive a 1999 Honda Accord Coupe...and right now it sucks because the check engine light came on!

however it is almost paid for so yay! :hyper:

I have seen this problem with Accords before (two women I dated had them). It is often something as simple as the gas cap not being tight enough. Call your Honda dealer and ask them.

:hyper: - wow, I sound like I know stuff about cars

I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler - Chili pepper red/soft top

You misspelled German. It's M-e-x-i-c-a-n.

Good for a chuckle, but if we are going into that argument, then American cars are not very "American" after all.

Do you consider this a foreign made car? Since the late 80s Honda Civics have been produced in Alliston, Ontario.

I have no idea if Honda has an American plant tho.

But anyways, the Honda Civic is probably the best car ever. Hands down.

Honda has or at least had a plant here in Ohio. Think it's in Marysville.

I have a 2003 Chevy Tracker. Took my car in to have it fixed and while waiting to find out what was wrong decided to trade it in when I liked this one. My impulsive side took over!

American made cars are crap. Japanese all the way.

most of the "japanese" cars are now at least assembled if not manufactured in US.

I have a 2002 VW Passat......fully loaded with all the trimmings.
Its black with grey leather and a 20 disc changer in the trunk which is quite annoying.
Oh yes, and 3 U2 stickers on the back.

I have a 1985 Ford Diesel pickup. Elvis Presley, you are lucky--diesels should get good mileage, but mine definitely does not. My dad is a mechanic and says it needs a total overhaul or...something like that
Oh well, we're going to sell it soon anyway.
With all the problems my poor truck has, though, I usually drive my dad's 2002 Chevy Silverado. I  that truck--leather interior, seat warmers, Alison transmission.....
Oh, sorry.

i don't have a car. my mother informed me a couple of weeks ago that she's giving me her car in a couple of months though. that one is a 93 GMC Jimmy.

My Aussie made American Ford, XR8. All it needs is bigger rims, darker tiniting and a new diff

I love and hate this car, simultaneously.

I used to have a 1967 VW Beetle  he was called Homer cos he was yellow like homer simpson. But then I decided to do a bit of work on him:

and he ended up looking like this:

  He was still called Homer and he was fab! But then I went travelling and I had to sell him to get some money  I got a new job recently and had to buy another car so I got a 2001 Ford Ka Collection like this:

not nearly as cool as Homer, but at least I don't have to drive wearing coat, hat, scarf and gloves in the winter anymore!

I have owned the following cars in my life:

- 1976 Dodge Dart  (but the dodge slant 6 is prob their best engine ever)

- 1981 Chevy Monte Carlo (now THAT is a rust bucket...the sunroof almost fell in on me due to it rusting out..lol)

- 1982 Chevy Chevette

Then I got rich (yeah...right) and starting buying new cars:

1988 Isuzu I-Mark Turbo (great car, too fast for a tin can tho)

1990 Acura Legend Limited (most luxurious car...oohhh this car was sweeeeeeeeeeet!)

then I got smart and started buying used again:

1985 Honda Civic...with over 350,000 km on it I finally had to get rid of it because I hit a moose...

And my two current rides:

1990 Jeep Cherokee (I LOVE Jeeps now!!)

1987 Honda Civic...yep, got another one, the 85-87 Civic is the best car on the planet..not a spot of rust and well over 300,000 km on it. Change the oil and go. Starts every day, without fail.

So if I were to ever want a new vehicle, it would go like this:

Current financial situation - new Jeep, newer Honda Civic (perfect combo...one for travelling and off roading, one for city driving).

Unlimited disposable wealth - BMW X5 or Range Rover, and maybe a BMW M5 for a car..

well you know how it is in Canada, moose crossings and all......

sorry to hear about that car though gabriel

get a VW, you wont be sorry......

Interestingly enough, I hit the moose in the state of MAINE!!! We were very fortunate to have lived thru the event...only by a stroke of (our) luck the moose happened to slip so we glanced him on his ass...most people in small cars who hit a moose while it's standing don't live to talk about it, as the body comes crashing down on the passenger compartment...very gruesome it is..

Hey Elvis, about VWs...aren't the repairs on them really costly? I knew a guy who had one, but because it was a VW he told me only VW mechanics can really do a good job on them, and then you get cleaned out...what have you found?

While its true that repairs can be costly, its the same as anything.......

its about who you know.

I keep in contact with about a dozen local VW TDIers in my area and they are all willing to help and share ideas and thoughts if repairs are needed

my car is still a baby though, ony 23,000 miles so far, so no repairs have been necessary

according to my hub, U2 wrote a song about my car

LEMON

We have spent a lot on it, I'll be waiting at the mechanics tomorrow. It's been making weird noises...again!( 4 cylinder Toyota wagon). It has the weirdest paint job.I could never be a bank robber. It's the first automatic I have ever owned, I like that about it. Hub and I both need new cars, it's a hard decision to make....on such a limited budget.. Only a few more years until my youngest child graduates **cass faints**.
I did say I would get a motorbike then, a BMW and ride off into the sunset. I hope that becomes reality. There are some fun looking MCC around here, the Ulysses "growing old disgracefully" and the Classic Bike Club... don't think I'll take up racing.
But in the meantime...putt, putt, puttt...bang...oh shit, not again!!:eeklaugh:  these boots are made for walking, and that's just what they'll do...
Sometimes, a lot of the time, I'd like to live in a town, where I could get by with a bicycle or walking. Catching the school bus from here is a rather alarming experience.

crikey bammo....I just looked at your pictures.
I helped my highschool sweetheart do up his VW beetle and we painted it that exact same colour. I remember having blue rimmed eyes and blue paint up my nose( didn't realise we were breathing so much in)It was that EXACT colour!!...memories.
Oh what fun....until I hopped in to his twin brother's white one. ( all the younguns where I grew up VW beetles back then, a posse..there was a VW specialist mechanic in our little town)
Life-changing it was....awful. Shoulda stayed in the blue one.
Homer!!!!teeheee car names :) We had one called Adi and a motorbike called Nancy Parker.
refer above for what I call my current car.
