Forget nuance about the role of Cuba in geopolitics. There are literally millions of evangelical voters who believe that people walked alongside dinosaurs.

if they wanted to survive the flood they should have just pulled their ark up by the bootstraps.

Bloomberg fell short of the mark, even though it was better than last time

Biden may have had his best night, but he did not hit it out of the park

Pete targeted every answer to get the African-American vote that has eluded him, I think it still will.

Bloomberg really couldn't do worse and I actually think that he was helped a bit by Warren's relentlessness.

I think that Biden will still pull off a win in SC. I'm not sure that Bernie's performance tonight is going to turn anybody whose mind wasn't made up. His socialism answer was bad IMO. And yelling over Mayor Pete was also weirdly unnecessary.

Biden was actually fine, maybe the most consistent I've seen him in a debate.

Warren and Klobuchar are done. My guess is Klobuchar will drop out between SC and super Tuesday but Warren may hang on and then drop out after that. I have to assume she has some sort of a deal with Bernie and will have a prominent role in his administration, were that to come to fruition.

I have no idea what Steyer is still doing there.

Mayor Pete wasn't bad, but it's hard to pinpoint what it is that he offers at this point. And I don't see him expanding his voting base.

So congratulations America, it's going to be one of the three ANCIENT WHITE MEN all of whom are approaching 80. Bernie wouldn't even commit to his VP being a woman when asked yesterday. Wonderful.

maybe he's considering a man of colour like castro (insert fidel joke here) for VP. bernie is already very popular with the latinx community and maybe castro could help with turning out that vote in a way that could be game changing. closing those doors so early might not be the best move.

That was just my impression at the time, and Pete right afterwards said about the same thing.

It may have appealed to a lot of the voters in South Carolina

Got it.

It appeals to me. I became a spiritual person (losing my religion), but the "do unto others" strongly effected me as my mom (a very spiritual person strongly concerned with justice and equality).

Meanwhile back at the ranch... Oh, wait he's overseas

NEW DELHI – President Donald Trump suggested Tuesday that two liberal Supreme Court justices should recuse themselves from any cases involving his administration because of their statements about him and a Supreme Court dissent Trump viewed as critical of him.

The president posted a tweet Monday in which he accused Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor of bias against him.

“It’s very obvious,” Trump said at a news conference in India, where he was wrapping up a 36-hour trip. “Justice Ginsburg should [recuse herself] because she went wild during the campaign when I was running."

Oh, just STFU, asshat! :|

I think those three old white guys are all older than Trump

Bernie is the only one that could go head-to-head with Trump for an hour and not get frazzled. Biden and Bloomberg both show signs of senility.

There is a lot of time between now and the Democratic convention in July.

And again I'm not heavily invested, I don't have any emotions in this political race at all,
but handicapping it I still think Kamala Harris is the best VP pick for Bernie.

She has a close relationship with the Obamas I think both Barack and Michelle would go out and campaign with her in the states and get the African American vote out.

Also she is seen as less extreme than Stacy Adams? able to attract moderates and Independents, and if something happened to Bernie people would be more comfortable with Harris becoming president.

Pretty much my thinking,

But I think Bernie could be a closer second.
If Bernie wins South Carolina, even after that shit turd tonight, this thing's over.

If he's a reasonable second, ahh who knows we're probably headed for a brokered election.

If he has a disappointing finish? Like he drops to third? Things get much harder for him very quickly. But that might not matter if the moderate wing doesn't consolidate - much like what happened to the not batshit crazy wing of the GOP in 2016.

Bernie was frazzled today by some democratic voters booing him. How can you possibly say that he wouldn't be frazzled?

I don't see S C being quite that important, when we have 13? States 3 days later on super tuesday

I think Biden wins by about 6 points. Would have been 3 points before this debate.

Biden's best debate so far, and all said, he may be named "the winner" of this one. Top two easily.

Bloomberg didn't help himself, but not much harm

Pete was one of the best probably. but just because the others didn't do that great.

Steyer was solid but forgettable

Amy was really bland.

Liz went too hard over and over on Mike. It ended up kind of backfiring, overshadowed her message

Bernie lost tonight. Not that he was terrible. But for the first time was actually struggling. Pulling out strange rebuttals and using his stump speedh over and over. The pounding away at how he pays for his plans and winning the senate will stick with people. And the Socialist stuff is just a preview.
He is the loser cause he everyone else held steady, Joe boosted himself, and I think Sanders took the hits.

Biden did miss one big moment that he could have had.

When the moderator asked, what's the biggest misconception about you. He made a joke about his hair.

He could have had one line that would have sealed the deal -
Biggest Misconception: That I was out of this race.

I dunno I disagree with that. Best thing for Biden is to not even acknowledge that some think he’s out of the race. Only start playing that card when you’re desperate. I don’t think he’s desperate yet.

yes I think I saw that,
I was on tape delay and speeding up a bit too
I think he got startled because he's not used to hearing boos, haha
anyways, I think we just all tell what our takeaways were from these things

we're not always going to agree

Bloomberg's misconception that he is 6 feet tall, just shows he's really kind of out of touch
that would only be funny if it was a holiday work party and you had to laugh at his self depreciating joke

did anyone notice that after one of the commercial breaks there was a side angle that showed him standing on a box?

I will admit I kind of enjoy Bernie,

I think it might be because he does a great Larry David impersonation

Elizabeth Warren peaked too soon, she was at over 50% in October 2019

I am sure a lot of people were really excited then and they are kind of sad now

It is a shame that in 2020 we still have not had a woman president, if anyone wants to look back in here in 2008 I was really pushing hard for Hillary to get the nomination, I think she would have been a pretty good president then.
