Went to the official grand opening of Gillette Stadium for Monday Night Football last night and they used U2 twice during the ceremonies.
First, just before unveiling the Super Bowl championship banner (yay), they did a video montage of the 3 playoff games while playing "Beautiful Day".
Then at halftime they did a video retrospective of the entire 2001 season while playing "Walk On".
Quite cool. Also cool was watching the Patriots kick the crap out of the loudmouthed Steelers. Maybe now they'll shut their yaps about the better team not always winning...the better team won both times, and convincingly so.

That's very  as for the Steelers :silent:

But the Backstreet Boy wearing the Brady shirt :scream:

Ah, this is better... :D

That's the way it's supposed to be. U2 everywhere!

Actually way back when it was the CMI, CMG  Field, I heard that the owner LOVED U2 and wanted them to play the first show there. That would have happened this past summer, but U2 turned them down as they were busy and stuff. Pretty cool though!!

I know a couple people who also work there and they said they are sick of Beautiful Day b/c while they trained for work it was the only song played over the loudspeakers- over and over and over..
