ONE love, blood, life
Ladies and Gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for is here - the envelopes with the results of the Round 2 voting - the WINNERS of the Bomb Awards - have arrived(play along)!
Before we get into the presentation of the awards themselves, I would like to say a few things so that you understand how these votes were tallied.
I went into my hotmail, and I opened each ballot(e-mail) I recieved in a new window. I then opened Microsoft Excel, and created 11 worksheets. Each work sheet had three(or four, depending on the category) columns, one for each song nominated in that category. I then looked at the first ballot, and put a '1' in the column for the song that had been voted for. I did this with each vote, and then with each ballot. At the end, I used Excel's mathematic functions to sum each column - this gave me the number of votes per song in each category - sum the column-sums up to give me the total number votes for that category - and divide the highest column total by the total number votes to tell me what percent of the vote the winner recieved in that category. The same was done with each category. The results were finalized just moments ago.
There were two complications: The first was that two people - who will remain unnamed - left some categories blank on their ballot. For each vote left blank, I added a vote to song in LAST PLACE in the category in question. I needed to keep the vote totals close to each other so the percentages in the end would mean something. The second complication was that one of the categories ended in a dead-heat tie(this was after my own ballot was entered in). To break the tie, I went to a round 1 ballot that didn't get to me in time for round 1, and checked the category in question. Luckily, only one of the two tied songs was voted for on that ballot. And so the tie was broken.
That about covers it. If you have any further questions about the vote-tallying procedure, feel free to ask me.
Now, to reveal the winners. I will add one post to this thread for each category, just to prolong the whole thing even more and build up the suspense...and I'll be going backwards through the categories in terms of importance(importance to use anyway)
The first winner will be posted in FIVE minutes.................
