To my fellow amateur music makers out there...do you think that this is worth purchasing as a start for a home studio? What are your thoughts on this in general?

@iYup, Re: that Train Christmas album, I heard a song from it at the T-Mobile store tonight. Joy to the World. It was terribly annoying and pointless...until they started snippeting Calling All Angels out of nowhere. Then it reached a new level of cringe.
I nearly left but I had been waiting an hour at that point, so I dealt with it.
Is it bad of me that I like Sleater-Kinney but the more I pay attention to their actual politics the more they irritate me? Something Corin Tucker came out with a while back in re. Hillary Clinton just stuck in my ass sideways. A neo con, a warmonger, a blue dog Democrat... but she's a woman, so yay progress?
Probably like Carrie more, on the whole. Portlandia was great in its early seasons.
I haven't listened to Sleater-Kinney but I can sympathise with this.
I will start that in the next day or two. Just finished Man in the High Castle, and got Netflix working again on my Roku. Whoot.
Underworld are releasing a new album next year in March. I'm excited.
I love early nineties Underworld, but in fairness their 2000s stuff is pretty good too. So that'll be nice.
i notice this with a lot of people in general, so it sadly doesn't surprise me.Is it bad of me that I like Sleater-Kinney but the more I pay attention to their actual politics the more they irritate me? How was that?
I love alternative histories. That said, some of the characters (especially the supposed good guys) didn't appeal to me all that much. Season 2 should be interesting, though.
I have never shown interest in Built to Spill because of the idiotic name (a ridiculous reason, I know), but after hearing some of their stuff lately I think I need to check them out.

Is this some roundabout way of dissing their most acclaimed albums?
The run of Dubnobasswithmyheadman, Second Toughest In The Infants, and Beaucoup Fish is very impressive.

Second Toughest in the Infants is one of the finest electronic albums of the 90s. Putting a couple of mammoth tracks right up front like that was badass.
The first part of this is true for me as well.

LeMel, what you think about that interface/monitor/microphone bundle I posted last night?
I know you told me about that Boss 16 track recorder thing. I'm intrigued by that as well. But that Scarlett bundle thing seems like a good deal. I don't know.
If it's any consolation, I doubt I'll ever listen to that Kendrick Lamar album because it has one of the worst titles I've ever heard.
You get what you pay for, but I guess everyone's gotta start somewhere. It also depends on your computer. I went with Apogee and Blue Microphones with a MacBook Pro and never looked back.
