Just read the Feist album as a cross between Florence and BSS... is that true? If so I need to download it immediately.

To my ears, that description is almost wildly inaccurate. The new Feist album is sedate and folky; it has none of the grandiosity of Florence or theatricality of BSS.

An interesting note about the Louis CK show:

Louis had trouble finding a comedian who didn't suck to open for him, so he made a twitter post about needing an entertainer and ended up having Steven Page play a few acoustic songs for us. If you don't know, Steven Page was the lead singer of the most celebrated Canadian alt rock band of the mid 90s.

And apparently Steven answered the twitter call about an hour before the show. Pretty cool. It was actually a pleasant few songs

I don't know, I'm so jaded with the normal live versions of it, I liked it. Bono's vocals were pretty great and I liked the different tone on Edge's guitar.

Man and a Woman was real nice too. People can complain about the lack of Pop material on 360 but I'd much rather In a Little While than Staring at the Sun. I love One with strings and Miss Sarajevo was amazing.

Wow. Boner and Hedge managed to cover seven albums in seven songs:

Shuttle & Bum
The Joshua Cock
Atomic Serve
Whore
Poppycock
Achtung Birdie
Cockengers

Pretty impressive. And oh, the irony that the Hollywood Bowl was spared any ATYCLC after so many stadiums getting an overdose of it for much of the last tour.

the setlist looked pretty decent, though random. i wonder if those were clinton's favourite u2 songs? i didn't even know about the show until i saw all the "zomg amaaw" posts in ispy.

totally random, but i just remembered something, when edge (i think it was him) "posted" on here, but it was fake. not the time in 2004 or whatever, but the time before that. i can't remember any other details though, damn.

I liked everything else. But SBS acoustic was just sad, somehow. It reminded me of - I think it was LM and me awhile back joking about them doing an unplugged casino tour someday (I think LM's joke was The Fly Unplugged). It also seemed like it was so late in the show that people were starting to leave, and that Lady Gaga was the highlight of the show, and then they brought out Bono & Edge when people were already tired and yawning and starting to leave. It had a sad quality even though I enjoyed the set and applaud them for doing something different.

A Man & A Woman was pretty amazing, I have to say.

Hey guys -

Just stopping by to wish Scumbo a happy birthday.

Have one on me!

As always, I will celebrate Scums' birthday by not downloading an album, made easier because I don't have a computer.

While looking for a nice Gary and Ace photo, I found a photo of Laz as a Brewers fan. I see captain tubing just pulled up his steamer right along side the ballpark after a nice visit to Kentucky.

U2 celebrated Scums' birthday by deciding not to remaster Achtung Baby. U2.com removed all mentions of it being remastered as we suspected it may have.

My apologies if you guys have already gone over this, but it's not like it's confirmed or anything. Just proof of how poorly this set is being advertised.

I saw that. My husband's aunt and uncle live there. She was mayor of Bloomington for about 15 years back in the 70s and 80s I think. It's a very nice town. I like it every time we go to visit.

The two times we went down there we really enjoyed our visit (once to explore and once to see Feist).

It's even nicer than Auburn, which we also liked very much.

Alabama? :cringe:

And how poorly it was thought-out.

Auburn, Indiana

I don't even care that much if it's remastered or not, but Jesus Christ, how hard is it to get it sorted in the descriptions? Who the he'll is running the show over there?

If it's not remastered, I find it odd that one of the "formats" is just the plain CD, and is available for pre-order or whatever. Because the original release is still in print.

Why even bother listing that one?

exactly. i'll admit, this debacle has made me realise i'm even more torn about whether or not to buy this. on one hand, i'm really just buying it to hear the goodies anyway and i'll get those whether the album's remastered or not. but on the other hand, if it isn't, then that and zooropa being in the set, not remastered, is just a waste.

they just need to issue a statement to let us know once and for all. to an outsider that sounds absolutely ridiculous, but with this back and forth, it seems ridiculous to think as of right now, we won't know if it is or isn't until the damn thing is in our hands.

exactly. that's always made me optimistic it is remastered, but why did they have someone go in and remove all instances of the word "remastered" if it actually is? weird.

As a life-long Cubs fan, this is like some kind of nightmare realized.

Any other Jason Isbell fans in here?

I'm ashamed to admit I just got the 400 Unit's new album (from April, :reject:) Here We Rest, I'm halfway through and so far it's fantastic, his best work outside the Drive-by Truckers.

Downloading I Am Trying To Break Your Heart and Cameron Crowe's new Pearl Jam documentary. It's gonna be a night of rock and roll films! Pumped.
