Good call!

And that's the first font listed under the "stencil fonts" page on dafont. Whoever made this didn't look very long for the perfect font, it seems. They just picked the first one they saw.

Anyway *continues thought from previous post* Anybody could make a fake album cover and then post it to a fansite (note: I'm not accusing .:MrMacPhisto:. of doing that, but rather whoever posted it to the site he got it from) and say they 'found' it somewhere and think it's the real thing.

Hay guys! Look at this! I think this is the real album cover!

Incorrect. I merely pointed out that I thought that was far and away the best cover somebody had made, or the best cover in the thread. Then we all looked at it and pretty much realized this and said :hmm: this almost looks too good to be made by a fan. Regardless, I think it is a pretty cool cover even still, fake or in the .01% chance event that it is real.

Our hopes = owned.

*sigh* Yeah, that looks like the font all right. Bummer, I really dig that cover. The kid with the U2 shirt is just such a great image. I agree that there's no reason that a Four Five One designer can't use a font, but yeah, it probably wouldn't be shareware... although open-source/free software is making huge strides these days. I think the biggest 'weakness' in that cover, if there is one, is that "onthe" appears as one word. That's kinda janky.

Basically, I just don't want yet ANOTHER cover with the 4 band members gazing off in different directions, like we always seem to get from Anton Corbijn.

Here's something I've been working on. I thought I'd go with something completely different than using something like landscapes or having the band in it. It's been awhile as well since they haven't been on a studio album cover.

So I went with beautiful Moroccan tilework, since that country and recording location may be used in the album theme. It's a very simple cover with fading on the left edge, which could imply 'no horizon' and the album title is repeated at the top giving it a contradictory 'horizon'. Also it's difficult to read which I think adds to the effect of 'no horizon'. Perhaps not the greatest album cover but it could be used as a Single/B-Side or other.

Using your idea I made this:

It sucks, but I'm bored

Haha you reminded me of this:

Members Of U2 To Stare In Different Directions
Feb 26, 1997 | Issue 31•07

DUBLIN—In what many record- industry insiders are calling a return to the band's mid-'80s prime, members of U2 announced Monday plans to stare in different directions. Guitarist The Edge said he will stand slightly behind lead singer Bono and stare off to his right, as if gazing purposefully into an uncertain, yet hopeful, future. Bassist Adam Clayton will stare downward, burdened by the weight of injustices all over the world. Drummer Larry Mullen Jr. will look up, as if searching for guidance from a higher power. Lead singer Bono has still not committed to a specific position, saying, "That is a decision I can only make in the actual moment of artistic creation. But it'll be a different direction than the other three, you can count on that, brother!" The multi-directional staring is expected to take place atop a jagged, rocky peak.

^ this is completely inaccurate, you didn't list any of the confirmed songs. not even the right album title, and they wouldn't use a picture from over a decade ago. and I can't read the stuff at the bottom. unlike all the other covers in this thread, which are awesome enough to be real covers, this one blows
