Anyone know any safe, cheap places to stay in San Diego that are kind of in the middle of things, i.e the venue, the zoo, old town, harrah's casino...

james

james, lots of us are staying at the Holiday Inn right across the street from the Sports Arena...not exactly a place with alot of character, but definitely convenient to the venue. You can check out the San Diego thread under the Fan Gatherings forum...

i'm actually flying to the SD opener from Dallas on the 27th :) It seems there are quite a few other fans from Dallas heading out to SD for the opener--how cool!

is that so? i'm leaving the morning of the 28th (6am) and flying from love field to houston, then houston to san diego. i'm definitely up for some kind of meet up (as i won't be there in time for the vertigo eve party deal) whether it's random people or dallas people.

are you staying for the second show, too?

james

yes, i'll be there for the second show. i don't live in dallas (used to) but am visiting relatives there on my way to SD since my flight entailed a change of plane there anyway. I know I'll be at the Vertigo's Eve thing--sorry you'll miss that...but if you are there for the second show I'm sure there will be festivities the night of the 29th. Feel free to email me or PM me (ruffian@u2email.com) closer to the time and I'll give you my contact info in SD :)

We (the U2 GTA) are staying at a crappy motel called the Premier Inn-Sports Arena.

We are arriving on the 27th and all have GA though so we figured that a fancy hotel would go to waste since we would be in line.

It's .8 km (or .5 miles) away from the arena too so that works out well.
