:larry:: Bono, do you have any idea what I'm gonna do to you after this awards rot is over with?

bonolarryzooU2File2.jpg

um yeah.. my mind just goes into overdrive with The Fly and Zoo Larry... :combust:

Whoa. Zu, you are wondrous. Not only Larryspam, but Bono at the same time. :applaud:

Dazz, totally envious that you saw Patti Smith back in the day.

And unlike some - I think I have fair grasp that he is not without flaws.

I think Bono is what John Lennon could have been or maybe fancied himself being.

Unfortunately, me too :/ but only because I have to make nice and try and reason with people I know who seriously don't like him.

That's an interesting thought...

I agree with that, too.

I think the smartest thing Bono ever did was to stay attached to people he grew up with, people that would call him on his BS (which, undoubtedly, there has been lots over the years) and not let him get too big for his britches. As much as I hate to admit it (because I am an envious, petty bitch) Ali probably has a lot to do with that, too.

You and Grace. Mind = blown. Is it weird that I kind of secretly like when people on IF (and PLEBA, no less) can admit to stuff like that? whoa.

Yep, I too am a childish bitch when I see photos of them together. I immediately shag another musician/actor in my head to get back at him. Feel the burn, Bono.

:giggle:  Better to fight fire with fire?

oh, and what VP said about Bono keeping people around who would call him on his shit - totally. I wonder how much of that was a conscious decision or if that's just the kind of guy he is. I feel like, once a friend of B's, always a friend.

Holy balls.

haha - I love that you mentally shag someone else. I think Larry understands that he's on a list with 4 others... (the 4 others vary and he's always at the top).

:D

Ha!!

As corny as this sounds, I also thing that this is one of the unique qualities of U2...the depth of the friendship and how that's lasted over the years. I'm sure they were a bit younger than the Beatles were when they got together, can't remember offhand and too lazy to google, but I think it speaks to the kind of men they are that they've been able to maintain that for all this time, after all they've been through. Although my level of interest at any given time may wax and wane, they've been my favourite band for so long...but the one thing about then that never fails to get me is when they publicly show affection and caring for each other.

I know. Is it bad that this practically makes me emotional...

Isn't it weird to be affected by people you don't actually know in real life? hrm. Slightly offtopic. I keep finding myself thinking, mostly not with U2 because they had less press 'tampering' than other bands/people, whether the image I've gotten over the years is completely wrong and whatever info we have is totally different than what was really going on...I mean, people usually have really short interviews, about whatever topic is most scandalous, etc. Not to mention the way things from the past look in hindsight. Part of why it's really weird to research just about any band. Most of the ones I like are from at least 20 years ago...that's a lot of time for public opinion to change, for people to be glorified or vilified...etc.

Holy...

Comet, the videos are adorable :cute:. She's REALLY good ! Every time I see little kids doing something so brilliantly I feel incredibly lazy.

I just had to share this with you guys, because I can't stop giggling about it.

This is a direct quote from this strip of QuestionableContent
"If guitars are phallic symbols, and keyboards are female, does that mean keytars are hermaphrodites?"

Pintsize (the little robot dude) was talking of becoming a drum machine for his owner's band. And I know on a politically correct level, it shouldn't be funny, but I find it hilarious in my allergy-suffering state of mind right now...

 Interesting point!

(Didn't realize keyboards were perceived as female symbols. How do they figure that?)

Okay, I am shame-faced. I heard this on Fallon last night and it's a pretty catchy song. But this is just adorkable.

Jimmy Fallon, Carly Rae Jepsen & The Roots Sing "Call Me Maybe" (w/ Classroom Instruments) - YouTube

I saw this online today, too. It's incredibly adorable and made me smile. And I'm just now starting to hear that song a bit more often (I saw a thing on some entertainment show earlier about her-she's, like, in her mid-20s, they said...I thought she was a teenager!). I can see the appeal, it's catchy.

I had the version of "Friday" that Jimmy Fallon did with Stephen Colbert, Taylor Hicks, and the Roots in my head at one point today :der:.

Sorry, dropped out for a bit to talk to Sarah.

:hmm:  no, i think we can agree to disagree...i feel pretty secure in that :). and there are things i wasn't aware of-- the gun carrying..

several people pointed out Paul as good family man... vs i say seemingly, because i may have the wrong impression... vs JL as this piein-sky activist running around.... and certainly back then with less than a traditional family.... so i felt a bit diminished as a chosen to be so without children semi-activist woman.... something i rarely am insecure about as part of my personhood.

hope that is clearer! :)

I certainly wasn't making any sort of commentary on your parenthood vs. non-parenthood choices. Both are valid from my point of view! But I can see where it's fair comparing Paul and his family to John's relative distance from Julian (did Julian have siblings? Can't remember) vs. his later relationship with Sean.

:reject: I can share one. This is Camille 4 years ago when she was an apprentice with City Ballet of San Diego.

She's the dancer on the left (when the 3 soloist come out). They wanted her to join the company so bad, since they had trained her since she was 5! But professional dancing just wasn't what she wanted. I don't blame her. The female dancers make nothing. ALL the $ goes to the men, sadly.

And one more. :reject: If classical ballet is not your thing, contemporary ballet. This was probably also about 4 years ago, and it's a school show her and her friend did, but still pretty cool. (I think :reject:) (She's the redhead, I'm sure you know!)

(Ok done being proud mom. I do miss seeing both my kids dance, ah well!)

Awwww! It must be so cool having those to look back on!

It is. :cute: Dancing was a big part of both kids entire growing up so I'm glad we have video. I think she's about 14 in the company video and 16 in the school video. She'll be 20 this month.

And thanks as well M_Angel. :) I know what you mean too about feeling lazy. Both my kids danced professionally at ages when I was smoking pot at lunch hour during school.

(And I mean they danced for the professional company, but they didn't get paid for it!)

134 pages on the last thread? Is that a mistake or were you guys insanely busy last night?

GO Ireland! Hope they will make it tonight vs Croatia. I'm wearing green. :D

As a frustrated dance mother, I need to see video of your children!

Sarah did end up figure skating, so that made up for it. Sort of.

I'll post to fb soon.

Larry's always on top, eh zooey?

Most of the time yeah :shifty:

Baby, that's not a slip....it's a shirt. And it's low cut.....

She went backstage with my sister in law to help get the girls ready....and she LOVED the backstage electricity. I still have dreams from my theater days. Zu, when I first started college - I wanted to be you and teach drama. Then I got sidetracked many times over.

So, I could have a little star on my hands. .

all of this is so cute! To state the obvious, I love the theatre!

yes, yes you would like to marry Dave Grohl. What a charmer!!!!

Ok, of for my first mountain bike ride on an acutal mountain! I'm kinda freaked but really excited. Hopefully I"ll talk to you guys later, andnot from a hospital bed!

Good on your bike ride and be safe Zu.

I ran 3 miles and then did a full weight routine. Yay me. I can eat today. And I can feel myself get stronger which is good.

Dave Grohl is awesome. At my birthday party and I want Bono, Edge and Dave to get drunk with me.

 I'd settle for just Bono and Edge. You can have Dave though.

Hey you passed 8k posts. :D Speeeech!

Just finished making an excel sheet with all my work hours and everything, so I can check if I get paid too little, also with each date that breaks a new period and when payment is due.

God it feels good to make schedules. So organised. My head just got that tiny bit quieter. And it showed that I will get paid the day before me and Jem leave on holiday. So convenient, as that month's pay will be at least twice last months'!

Sweet Bono on Cracker!! I totally spaced on this. Well, when I get home tonight, I will post a picspam and open Porndora's Box of Goodies. I'm off to a Graduation party. Fun filled weekend here.
