on a side note: i am always so surprised to notice that alot of U2 fans are DMB haters. mayebe it's due to difference in their styles of music or maybe its something else entirely. who knows
i love them both
DiGi said:DMB kicks a$$. I have noticed in posts on interference that there are a lot of misconceptions about them, which imo is too bad.
MrPryck2U said:Stop talking about the Dave haters. There are more people here saying Dave is good more than bad.
Bottom Line: If one talks shit about an artist, they should have all of their facts in order.
DMB are good people. Their music is good as well. They care about their fans. [/QUOTE..

Anyway..a woman that I occassionally f*ck gave me this CD/DVD..tonight.
Dave Matthews is an ok artist..
He is no Bono
He should of tried being a poet..full time instead of part time Rock Artist and attempting to manipulate..women.. in the meantime..
He manipulates young colleged minded women well..

Seems to me that they were trying to figure out a way to stop bootleggers from profiting from the illegal sale of their music and maybe realized from this bad episode that they have to come up with a better way to do that. This seems like an experiment gone awry, but seems to me they were within their rights and when they realized it was all a bit harsh, retreated to rethink the whole thing. I think their integrity remains more than intact. This was circa 1997 and I haven't yet found updated info.

This is a rip-off I have witnessed first-hadn. There have been CD stores here in Alabama that sell outright bootlegs of CDs by DMB, Widespread Panic, Grateful Dead, The Eagles, and even our own U2. Most of these bands are very generous about TRADING bootlegs and some even encourage it, but to take one of those bootlegs and put it in a jewel case and sell it for $25 PER DISC (meaning: $75 for a 3-CD show) is ridiculous. Many of these bands make their money on tours, and retail album sales are a nice bonus, but no one should be making unauthorized money of off THEIR recordings.
One of the stores here in Alabama recently got shut down and all of the bootlegs confistacted.
