Babyface
is this the end
over 20 years in thebusiness it seems that even irish tigers
get long in the tooth.
ihope thebest means something more than what this new album delivered.
in someways i am still waiting for the next great album.
i guess in a way this atomic bomb is perhaps a sign that things are shifting in different areas then the thing called u2.
for a lyricist like bono to resort to old grand metaphors to uplift rather than to ponder maybe i am missing the plot.
maybe the point is so adamantly obvious where bono says in the opening line to stuck in a moment he says that he is no longer afraid of anything and all he wants is simple melody.
maybe the elevation of u2 is not to worry anymore
but to enjoy what life has given you.
maybe that is the lasting legacy this band has left to give.
as a u2 fan for many years if this is thier swan song then i wish them the best .
they made me and my generation to believe in something more than art as artifice...that somewhere beneath pretention is relevance and hope
