Ignore list

Can someone tell me about the Ignore list? I was viewing a thread, and as I was reading it, I came across a message that said "this person is on your Ignore list". I never put anyone on the "Ignore list". What is this really used for!!!

PS how is this fixed?

You may have put someone on it accidentally. Either way you can take them off it by going here , removing their name, and hitting "update list".
