BWA HA HA HA HA HA HA!
That sounds just like what my friend and I did a few years ago!
I was visiting her in Maryland and it had been pouring rain. I, being from the Los Angeles area, had never really seen flooded rivers and creeks before.
Sooo, we(my friend and her roommate) decided to go for a drive and see how much damage had been done from the storm. We tried to cross one creek, but we couldnt see how deep it was, and then this car turns its highbeams on us from the opposite side of the creek. We had no choice but to back up and get out of there, and it seemed pretty likely it was a cop car.
So, we went down this other woodsy street, saw a sign that said the road ahead was closed(flooded), ignored the sign and kept driving. It was all fine, there was little water around, but suddenly this car way up ahead pulls away from the side of the road and starts heading out way.
We quickly assumed it was the police, made a u-ey and hoped theyd leave us alone.
The car kept following us though, still far behind, and we had a debate as to whether or not it was actually the cops. We came to the conclusion that it had to be, and my friends roommate(a guy
) was in the backseat, and he seemed to be enjoying this! The car was still back there, getting closer, and my friend was gripping the steering wheel with a panicked expression on her face!!! I was busy thinking up excuses: Officer, i'm not from here, i told them not to drive down a closed road, but i'm from CA and i dont know anything about flooded roads, you see....
The car was still getting closer and by now the stupid guy in the back of our car was shrieking with joy, telling my friend to go faster, or shut off her lights, which would have been a stupid thing to do and only get her in more trouble. We were terrified, he was having a great time.
My friend desperately searched for a road to turn into, but there was nothing. A few driveways, but no streets.
It seemed like an eternity, but we FINALLY found another woodsy road and turned right. Thank goodness, the cop did not follow or even turn on his lights. Just escorted us the hell out of there! That was nice!!
