Over the past week, my guys have started chewing cords.
They did this a little when they were wee, but then left them alone for months. Now they've started again. In the past week, they've chewed a phone cord, which was no big deal, I got a new one at the buck store, but last night I discovered that they've chewed an AC power adaptor cord for my cordless phone. I've also seen partly chewed cords on other things that still work, fortunately, but if this keeps up, they'll get hurt, and I'll have to replace every cord in my house.
Hiding the cords isn't an option. I live in an older house with inconveniently placed outlets, and I'm stuck with where they are. There are too many cords, and with the way that they're placed, it's not feasible to cover them all with the hard plastic things that are made to prevent animals from biting through them. I read once that rubbing hot sauce on the cords can sometimes prevent biting. Does anyone have any better ideas?
I really hope that this is only because they're going through the final stages of teething, and that they'll stop soon.
