Great idea guys - thinking of something to thank the boys for a great run. I'm up for the sign idea. I'll bring a bunch and pass them around to people in my section.

How many should I make?

:lmao:

I am trying to be democratic here and try to get other people's input!

Hell, even the person that originated the question hasn't responded.

BUT assuming that we were going to do this, I'd be willing to (courtesy of my employer) bring at least 50 signs myself (with 100 being the more likely number, I have time to print 10 here and 10 there :D )

Seriously though, any other ideas?

Added you to the list...

Again, if we are doing this, I say bring as many as you can

Alright, so I guess I'll tentatively draft something to mail/post to the other sites?

Throughout the Vertigo 2005 Tour there have been some powerful instances of fans demonstrating their dedication to the band and giving some of the love back to them through coordinated fan action campaigns.

As a way to thank the band for an amazing tour we are proposing a simple “Thank You” Campaign. Simply bring a sign on an 8.5 by 11 sheet and be prepared to raise it up high in the air as the band prepares to leave the stage after the main set (as most of you know, this generally occurs after “One”). We would love to have as many of these signs, whether it is on the floor or in the seated sections. A very simple sign has already been prepared for easy printing. http://tinypic.com/hwbvbo.jpg or in Spanish! http://tinypic.com/hwzgqq.jpg Please print it on a landscape (lengthwise) setting.

You are of course more than welcome to make your own sign, but it would probably best to have a simple, uniform design throughout the venue. Please pass this information on to anyone you know that is going to this show and if you can, please print out as many extra signs as you can to distribute to the people around you.

So again, if we're doing this, perhaps we can post this around?

I can pass the info on to HelloAngel and post at U2Midwest and U2star. I dont really post anywhere else, any volunteers to take it to other sites? If so, please post where.

Sure, I can take it to Zootopia, a couple of Yahoo groups I belong to (U2LA, U2FansfromtheBeginning, Bono_Lovers, U2JT, U2Exit), and then I can pass along to ATU2.com, and I can email all those I know who are going to this show and have them spread the word.

Someone could pass out signs in the GA line up (I HOPE IT DOESN'T RAIN!!!)

I can take signs to the ATU2 party at Kells.

If I think of anything else I will post it here so we aren't going mad duplicating.

I will definitely be working the GA line  I have a couple of friends that will be there too, so they'll be made to print some signs :madwife:

Well, I guess this thing is a go... I would have liked to wait for more people to make suggestion, but let's face it, sometimes a few people just have to grab the bull by the horns. And for the record, I am not bossy, I just have organizational skills

Anyway, PMed HelloAngel, posted at U2midwest and U2star! Also have 15 signs printed. Figure if I print a few every day, I'll have a nice stack by the time I leave for Portland!

Yep. Glad you grabbed the bull by the horns Miroslava. Just a note to people making signs (and if you care about $$$) - I run a school's technology department and it's cheaper to print one sign and then xerox the rest.

Heading to the xerox machine now . . .

made, huh:wink: Off course I would love to take part in this project.... maybe some signs could be handed out during that @U2 party.

I was planning on printing and copying depending on stealthiness :shifty:

And yay Romi!

*puts rolling pin away*

As for handing signs at the party, depends how much people will be :drunk: If people are just going to take the signs and leave them in their rooms, we may just be better off keeping the signs ourselves and distributing the day of a couple hours before doors open/once inside... :hmm:

We need more input people :madwife:

While I would love to lead/participate in a sing-a-long, realistically it would be near impossible to pull off (unless you printed lyrics and directions re when to sing on the back of the thank you sign...?).

I can probably find a way to bring a stack of these to the shows. Should we make bilingual signs (is some say 'thank you' others 'gracias' as a tribute to Bono's spanish)?

Thanks! I love the spanish language version myself as well. You're right, a few of these peppered in with the english ones feels right. I'll make copies of the english language version and make a few copies of the spanish version.

Does anyone know what the GA policy for this venue is? I just checked the arena website and saw nothing posted.

I havent gotten as far as looking into the GA policy yet. Still have one more show before that. Basically what I have learnt too is that the policies mean nothing. So long as we know which door to line up at we're usually fine.

I do believe there is a basketball game the night before the show though, so that may impact the line up situation :hmm:

Yes there is a game Sunday night. I emailed the arena earlier this afternoon and they just responded that they would post the line up location on the website once they have figured it out. They also said that there is no camping allowed on the "campus" and that anyone on the property before 6am would be escorted out.

Good point re policies meaning nothing -- I recall lining up across the street from Staples during Elevation cause no early line ups on the property were allowed.

For what it's worth, I responded back with the San Jose and Boston wristband policy as a possible option for them cause if I don't have to sit outside in the rain/snow all day, I'd rather not.

By the way, congrats on your dance with Bono. That's an awesome picture you got there!

Uhg... hopefully the line up will not have to be done off-site...

And thanks! :reject:

I have been to many concerts at the Rose Garden. At all of them, security was lax and friendly (Oregon is my home state)

also, the first 15 people in line will have a roof over their heads. the rest of the line will be setting up on a set of stairs (comfortable, actually). Most of the time, you can sneak a car into the parking garage without having to pay

it's not what you think... it's..... like a gradula slope, with stairs every once in a while.. Besides, you will be in the top 5, so, it doesn't matter

you don't have to worry about doing all that research for this venue. I know it like the back of my hand

I will be in town from the 16th, but I will spend the first day and a half with my parents before getting a number and going to the atU2 party for a bit, and then coming back
