Oh, well, I didn't leave all THAT behind at university, are you crazy?
I am crazy, yes.

Actually he said "I am not here to bring peace on Earth, but to bring a sword..." His point was that those that were looking for the end of war and violence with his coming will still be looking for that wasn't his purpose. The sword he brought was one that would sever and might possibly divide brothers; alluding to the severing and dividing of the current church. Jesus later on rebuked Peter for raising a literal sword. So this is where I get off the boat with Bono and religion, because he sometimes seems to want to reinvent God and Jesus into this giant bundle of love and I'm sorry, but even Jesus said he came to put a sword between brothers etc.
You're correct but consider my audience.(also, BVS, I think the word you wanted to use to describe the story of the Flood is "allegory", not "analogy". )
I am crazy, yes.
I think this is a bit too convenient of a defense. It's one thing to have an "open mind," but quite another to associate with a group that openly promotes homophobia and aggressively pursues anti-women programs. I agree that it's well within his rights to associate with whom he pleases, but also well within an observer's rights to criticize him on that basis.

Maybe he's going with peace and not judging others, and trying to open the door for dialogue and understanding. If so, he's a lot stronger than me, and most people, regardless of faith.
You know Bono didn't actually mean for you to take that literally, right? And even so, it should have just been for the one night.
I don't believe I, or anyone said otherwise. You certainly have the "right" to criticise Bono, and his faith, and who he meets with, all you wish. He's certainly not immune to criticism based on whatever reasonable, or unreasonable, basis you wish to criticise him on. I don't believe anyone is attempting to stop you.
Bono, on the other hand, has the right to aggressively ignore you when you do so. Clearly he meets with all kinds of people that others might not approve of, and clearly he doesn't give a fuck.
No, its never about one night. Ever. Its like this never ending string that if you pull it this way or that way you get different results. What? Okay, does the sweater come apart or does it mysteriously break apart and you never find its origins? Did you pull too hard, not hard enough? ETC.

As far as the vengeful God vs the loving God, yes there is a difference between the OT and NT and honestly it's a bit much to take on here in EYKIW.
Por qué no te callas?
Why don't you knock off the insults? Attempting to hide it by saying it in Spanish doesn't count.
Do you even bothered to google what i said? I guess not. It means: why don't you be quiet? Is that an insult?
Haha
The sounds of dismembered buttons clattering on a voyeur dorm room floor.

But you did insinuate rather strongly than anyone who does criticize him in this instance is somehow less tolerant than he. That's the part with which I am taking issue.
Yeah, I know what it means. When you're just telling someone to, essentially, shut up, yeah, it is an insult. Well, not quite an insult, but more belligerent than necessary, for sure.
But if Bono is tolerant enough to meet with people he disagrees with, and whose views he may find objectionable...and you have a problem with that, then yes, you're less "tolerant" than him. You may regard your intolerance as good and righteous thing, which it can be. But it's still intolerant. Or at least, less tolerant.
Oh i see. Now it's not exactly an insult.
And our poor boy is far from belligerent. He is pratically an angel who can't take a "shut up".
Hmmmm. Well, now that you mention it, yes, in this case you (and that's a rhetorical you), are less tolerant. If Bono it tolerant enough to meet with people he disagrees with...even people who have extreme views, and you aren't, then yes, you're less tolerant than him.
I'm not saying that's necessarily a bad thing. Not tolerating things is a valuable part of the way we discriminate (another neutral term we've turned into a negative one). I don't tolerate bad mango, for example. Or bad books. But, to be clear, I didn't mean to insinuate those who criticise Bono on this subject are less tolerant (though they are). What I did say, very directly, is that I admire both Bono's willingness to meet with people he disagrees with, and his willingness to flip off people who don't like it.
And as an aside, while I'm not a particularly religious person myself, for some reason I instinctively defend people who are being attacked for their faith. I guess I just can't tolerate it.
You need to let go of the giant Nick sized chip on your shoulder.
