Just watching the Berlin show and the blackout starts the show , this lyric really stood out to me and hit home. It had me choked up to be honest

When the lights go out, throw yourself about
In the darkness where we learn to see
When the lights go out, don't you ever doubt
The light that we can really be

So the blackout may be the soundtrack to this year for me now .

Anyone else had the same feeling with any other songs

Stay safe people , we will get through this together

This Berlin concert wow , just what we need in these times were in

These days, days, days run away like horses over the hill
These days, days, days run away like horses over the hill
These days, days, days run away like horses over the hill
These days, days, days run away like horses over the hill
These days, days, days run away like horses over the hill
These days, days, days run away like horses over the hill
These days, days, days run away like horses over the hill

Second lyric to hit home from dirty day

"You give your power away" from With or Without You speaks volumes to me.

And "I never thought you were a fool, but darling look at you from Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of. Truer words have never spoken to me more.

Hello,
I'm a nurse, the days are very long right now. The song that helps me get through it and should help me get through many others is Drowning Man.
Courage to you all. Together, we'll come out of this dark time.

"These winds and tides
This change of times
Won't drag you away
Hold on, hold on tightly"

I wouldn't have thought someone in 2020 could think that "You give yourself away", one of U2's best-known lyrics, is instead "You give your power away", but here we are.

Oh man, next you're gonna tell me the line from Bullet The Blue Sky isn't: "Driving nails into the souls of Chia Pets"

Great idea for a thread :) nothing specific to these times, although it's definitely comforting to fall into U2.

But Ultraviolet took on new meaning for me in November, when I saw them play it live in Melbourne, with my girlfriend. "Your love was a lightbulb / hanging over my bed". I have loved Ultraviolet from the second I heard it, but it went to a new level that night.

not a U2 song, but "ventilator blues" by the stones has definitely taken on a new meaning, not to mention it's been stuck in my head for like the last three days straight now.

"Your Blue Room" fells like it could have been written this week. "Never in company, never alone..."

Thank you for your service in these perilous times!

Good lyrics to pick.
Good thread idea.

I just put a message in a family group chat saying that my mom works at a supermarket if anyone needs anything let me know . Then I just thought of this lyric and maybe the most powerful ONE

We’re one
But we’re not the same
We’ve got to carry each other
Carry each other
ONE

Falling, falling
The sun is burning black
Falling falling
It's beating on my back
With a fire (fire)
With a fire (fire)
Falling falling
The moon is running red
Falling falling
It's pulling me instead
With a fire oh, (ooh)
Fire oh (ooh)
Falling, falling
The stars are falling down
Falling falling
They knock me to the ground

and Tomorrow

Open up, open up
To the lamb of God
To the love of he who made
The blind to see
He's coming back
He's coming back
Oh believe it
Jesus's coming

Oh man, next you're gonna tell me the line from Bullet The Blue Sky isn't: "Driving nails into the souls of Chia Pets"

I was in the field
It was out of control
I had me a beer
And it was out of control

Sixteen of June, Chinese stocks are going up
And I'm coming down with some new Asian virus
Ju Ju man, Ju Ju man
Doc says you're fine, or dying…

Jesus
Jesus help me
I'm alone in this world
And a fucked up world it is too
Tell me
Tell me the story
The one about eternity
And the way it's all gonna be
Wake up
Wake up dead man
Wake up
Wake up dead man

Jesus
I'm waiting here boss
I know you're looking out for us
But maybe your hands aren't free
Your Father
He made the world in seven
He's in charge of heaven
Will you put a word in for me

Wake up
Wake up dead man
Wake up
Wake up dead man

Listen to your words
They'll tell you what to do
Listen over the rhythm that's confusing you
Listen to the reed in the saxophone
Listen over the hum of the radio
Listen over the sounds of blades in rotation
Listen through the traffic and circulation
Listen as hope and peace try to rhyme
Listen over marching bands playing out their time

Wake up
Wake up dead man
Wake up
Wake up dead man

Jesus
Were you just around the corner?
Did you think to try and warn her?
Or are you working on something new?
If there's and order
In all of this disorder
Is it like a tape recorder?
Can we rewind it just once more

Wake up
Wake up dead man
Wake up
Wake up dead man

Wake up
Wake up dead man

wow!! just MFING wow!!!

Bono is a prophet

Heard that song yesterday since I wanted to listen to Fez and I let the next songs play through and those lyrics to Breathe stopped me in my tracks. Forgot all about those in that song, crazy!!

I also like Drowning Man in times like these to remind me that these times shall pass just like a lyric in Stuck.
