I saw the "46664" concert and I was wondering who's the person named by Bono just before he started singing "One"

Can you help me?

He says: "this is for my friend --name -- who dies here in Capetown just yesterday"...

I'd like to know more about it!

Portia is a name for a girl, isn't it?

Portia is a girl's name. The only Portia I know was made famous in Shakespeare's 'The Merchant of Venice'.

I think it is probably a more common name in the UK. Here in North America a lot of people would probably spell it Porsche.
