I was the PopMart stage in 1998 that had to be modified in Perth - Also, Arlington saw a modified 360 stage
Arlington was just the top of the spire, obviously that won't be a problem here.
What was modified for Popmart?

What was modified for Popmart?
Why? Isn't Perth open air?
What do the Austrailians have against olives?

Wouldnt Jake Berry have been out to advance this stadium months before the actual show?
Amsterdam also had a modified stage, the top of the spire was lowered as well due to the roof.

And crane this size have to pass through:

Not sure if u2 have Claw pieces that are bigger than semi trucks
in other perth news I may be helping with setting it up
But wouldn't it be cool if there's this whole other configuration that they built into it - the stage TRANSFORMS! - and just haven't had to use yet.
The Spire looks similar to other shows. I'm more surprice thatthe entire claw had to snugly under the enormous roof beam/support.

there's no way to describe just how much i want this to be true.I always thought the reason for the Olive missing from the POPMart set in Perth was because it got lost in South America.
I doubt it. AC/DC played there - the semis are probably larger than the cranes.
Well, from what I remember that was due to the fact that residents near Croke Park physically stopped the trucks from leaving the stadium for a while until they were persuaded to move out of the way. So they missed one of the ferries, but I think at least a couple of those trucks were on the intended ferry.Wasn't there a transport issue between Dublin and Sweden regarding a missed ferry?
To add on to what you started, Helsinki notably had a 35 minute delay because of issues with the screen on the first night and I think there was a problem with the bridge on the second night - Bono said something about being stuck out on the catwalk before they launched into the only 2010 performance of No Line On The Horizon. That said, the stage itself hasn't had any malfunctions during the shows themselves. Screen in Zurich or stuck "bridge" here and there.
Someone will have to back this up, I can't recall the exact details but I remember being freaked out at the headline "Swedish U2 show in jeopardy!"
Popmart was in a tiny venue, an indoor tennis court with a stupid air pressure held-up cloth roof with god awful acoustics. The rumours were the toothpick was lost in South America.
Yep. Perth was the first show in Australia though. The toothpick was found, just not in time for the Perth show. At least that was the rumours.
