3 Irishmen and a Dutchman Walk Into A Sphere - General Discussion Thread Part III

The friendliest place on the web for anyone that follows U2.

Starting to think it might be time to give up on my 3/1 or 3/2 dreams :(
DON'T DREAM IT'S OVER.
Idk, I ended up successful in getting another ticket at face for last Thursday and Saturday, but it was hard. Didn't get in until ~7pm and after 8pm, respectively (but the 8pm one was at least locked in the night before, so wasn't stressing all day). I'll bet it'll be harder in March, but possible.

welp - we've reached the end of the road, folks. it was a hell of a run.
But the Sphere is U2’s venue and it’ll never be the same without them and they need Larry to play 40 to close out the last show and do I take the walkway from Venetian what size bag can I bring in for Dead & Co. anyway?

Having resisted fb for so long, I did appreciate the recent urinal label theft post that the commenters jumped all over for being a repeat (since it was new to me). I didn't know urinals had label plates, just that was a revelation.

Heads up: the very fair "line" for Friday's show has already started.
Y’know I was considering going for a bit but some other considerations came into play. I later realized the floor was going to be fuller and messier for these last shows than what I experienced in the fall.
So yeah, I will be laughing and scoffing at the inevitable drama.

Floor is already VERY messy. There are way more people on the floor than there were in December, and certainly a lot more than there were in early October. We had a hard time getting into the show this past Saturday. We were in RZ riser and we saw multiple medical emergencies. My friends had to notify security about a couple of them. For the very first one, right as the Lemon mix was starting, I swear the dude looked dead as he was literally dragged out through the masses....

I saw 4 GA shows from the friends and family riser or RZ and for these two the floor looked impenetrable. There was no visible room left even to the sides (pictures from above show there was, but it was certainly a lot less than the earlier shows).

I've luckily not been in any kind of squishing situation--everywhere I've been on the floor has been without having to touch anyone else. Moving into/out of your place will require lots of "excuse me"s though and probably some brushing against lots of people.

OH, and the lady on the rail in front of me at my last show fainted during Acrobat but they let her walk out and return a few songs later.

I did one true GA show for 12/1. Showed up at doors and ended up 2 off the rail on Adam's side. No issues then. I would not have wanted to be on the floor last weekend.

The 2/24 show was my least favorite out of 6 and Friday 2/23 was my favorite. Something felt off, but admittedly we were really distracted by all the drama within our eyesight and having to play messenger to security. Just as Acrobat was starting and we were getting back into it, another medical situation happened. Elevation finally started to get the spirits up, but then Atomic City being the follow up kind of flattened things up again. lol. It is fine if you are already on a high, but as I was just ramping up.... Vertigo onwards was all great. It helped that Ali walked right behind us at the beginning of Streets and settled a few people off from us and we caught her putting her hand on her heart, closing her eyes and smiling and swaying along with WOWY, just like so many of us do! :)

No problem whatsoever for GA on February 18th for me. We were close to the exit on Edge's side (still very close as the GA is very small), and had plenty of room. Thankfully no incidents in our vicinity.

The shows last weekend were FULL of friends and family from Ireland (according to our friend that works in the crew) and Bono who made mention of it from the stage I think both nights. Guess everyone realized that time was short and put in requests at the last minute so it really might have been a situation of extra GAs being issued. There were a couple people on FB saying that they bought last minute seats and then moved to GA when they realized that seats were double booked, but I am not quite sure I am believing that one. :p

Yeaaaaah I’m good with the shows I saw. Holding the $ I would’ve spent on the final weekend shows for next tour.

Actually, just saw a bit of a live stream where yup, Sphere management came to pull people from seats for some sort of confusion. They took them out and ended up with GA. Thankfully during middle 4 but it looks like it took a couple of songs. This was 3-4 people. Not sure if there were other incidents.
