tried the general sale. was told I was 55th in line. was then told it was totally sold out. all of it.
which i think is bullshit. for the final night, they are probably going to be pushing the packages hard.

Everything is either platinum or resale for super high prices.

but how was it totally sold out when i was 55th in line?
i'm being picky because it's really only worth it to me if i can get a genuinely different experience -- which would be GA, and would also be the last night of the tour (never been to an opener or closer).

Just got in. Fully sold out for GA March 2nd. You know there's an issue when you go from 1XXX to 1 pretty quick.
Oh well....got my March 1st ticket at least. If it's only that, I'm good. But hoping to still snag a March 2nd as the date comes.

General Sale was a pure crash and burn (for both GA and seated). Thank god for U2.com and that "real fans" are able to book through that in the presale.
Shame on the ones that buy and then resell for crazy prices afterwards.

I'm sure there are scalpers that probably subscribe to U2.com just to snag tickets as well. But at least a subset of that are "real fans" that actually want to go for the show(s).
At least the hurdle of getting a U2.com subscription (and a limit of getting 4 tickets max for only one show per batch) minimizes the impact of scalpers.

I wasn't able to book through the presale. i've done that since 2005. i got tickets via Propaganda in 2001.
it's most likely because I only wanted closing night, and probbly would have been able to book another night, but i also think that closing night will be much more "dynamic."
i'm irritated, but not mad. that's how it is.

I'm sure it will be (at least "on floor"), and it'd be nice to be there to see them close a chapter in their history with this tour. But at least we have Youtube and I'm sure someone will record the closing remarks, etc. for the rest of us to see.
Keep trying man, they'll most likely add more GA as the date gets closer. Also sh** happens, and ppl need to sell their tickets. So there's that too.

I know it's 40 and done (for now) but man Bono was 1 night only on his book tour too at NYC, then he added like 10 more shows.

Also I think U2 had the most impressive get tickets to fans at normal prices than any big act by far. I know some people got shut out, but it seems many got at least 1 ticket from it.
There is no perfect way to do any of this. As I always say, tickets could be FREE, you would have to pass a U2 fan quiz and people would get them and sell them for $$$$.

I mean, they pumped so much money into this tour for only 40 shows. I can see this coming back in some form or another. Especially since most ppl outside North Americas didn't get a chance to experience it.
If they ever open another Sphere (like in Europe and/or some other continent), I could see AB happening again. Maybe they'll even have Larry back by then

“Only” 40 shows that take in millions of dollars each and require little-to-no cash outlay for stage/tech development, travel, venue setup, etc. The profit margins likely dwarf their previous tours, and no tour has done this level of PR for the band in over 20 years. But I don’t see a repeat. Once a few other acts play the venue, the shine wears off and they won’t get as much out of it besides easy money. If they ever play the venue again, it would need to be an entirely different thing.

I got a couple tickets for one of the final shows through the fan club presale (supposedly anyway…my card was charged for them). Still waiting on an email to confirm this and let me know what show I have tix for. Anyone else playing this waiting game?
Have you logged into your Ticketmaster account and checked it they are there? They have been put into accounts.

There's something on ticketmaster today I've never seen before...SUITES at the Sphere. For 16-32 people the lowly Joe Public (with $30-60k to spend) can buy out one of the music/movie stars suites.
I ended up getting tickets from TM for December 8 too ( already had seats for the 9th). At about 7:30 I started hitting the TM site and there were both GA and Reserved popping up. Every time I tried to buy a GA it was gone before the transaction could complete. At 8:00 the TM site said the event had started and GA tickets were no longer for sale. I selected Reserved and there were seats available in the center first few rows of the 200s. I ended up grabbing one of those and got to my seat about 10 minutes before U2 hit the stage. It was a lot of money but I'm from Canada and don't get a chance to see them live too often so it was well worth the extra expense.
