no. stop. step back from the ledge.

i watched the 60 minutes piece with my wife, who does not follow things as closely as i do. she knows MTG is kinda nutty, but isn't up on the whole "q-anon people think that democrats are a satanic cabal of pedophiles" thing. and when i've brought it up, she's probably thought that i was the crazy one and was exaggerating.

well - she saw the interview, and laughed through it. and there were a lot of "oh my god she's fucking crazy" bandied about.

so you say "normalized" - i say "exposed"

let's call the whole thing off.

a lot of normies - i.e. those who aren't obsessed with watching Tucker or Rachel Maddow every night - still respect 60 minutes. putting that craziness on might make the people who already support MTG and her way of thinking nod their head in agreement - but it makes everyone else look at her like she's got 10 fucking heads and is an absolute coocoo bird.

nobody of sane and rational mind could sit there, watch that, and go - "huh, ya know what? maybe she's right. maybe every democrat is a pedophile. "

they're saying "holy shit she's insane"

just because left leaning twitter is all in a kerfuffle over the interview doesn't mean that it actually helped MTG's cause.

This. I think the MSNBC/CNN Doomsday Shock Media has really poisoned a lot of people on the left from thinking that everyone who votes Republican has turned batshit crazy and that exposing MTG on programs like this are making her stronger. It's the same folks that actually think this Indictment is going to help Trump get elected.

They forget that a huge portion of this country isn't obsessed with Politics and would just prefer someone in office that they don't have to worry about on a daily basis.

Tell me about it. CNN is nothing more than Fox News but on the left. The frustrating part is that it’s very easy to miss some of the BS in the haze of truth (as in, they easy views that don’t require BS or spin, misdirection, or lies to present, but they still do from time to time).

I’ll never forget criticizing Mike Pence for using a soda machine and describing it as a “rona dispenser.” Like, you don’t need to say shit like that to say “his social posture towards public health is relaxed during a global pandemic and that is concerning.” No pseudoscience necessary!

Haha Trump is about to make a speech to a mostly anti-Trump crowd. What a clown show.

MTG said that Trump is like Jesus and Nelson Mandela because they all got arrested. She is deranged. I think she might be in love with him too, they'd actually make a good couple.

MTG also put out some sort of ad? I guess it is about Democrats being pedophiles and groomers, and used video of President Biden comforting a child who has a stutter.

CNN actually has been shifting right as they are losing viewership, but even MSNBC, while they may cover stories that shed a better light on the left and worse for the right (and let's be honest, can we name much good coming from the right?) They don't lie about the things they cover. They don't knowingly say the opposite of what is actually true. They don't create stories with no basis in reality just to scare people or keep viewership.
We absolutely know with written and verbal proof that this is what Fox does all day long.

I would hardly call axing clowns like Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo as shifting to the right. I think the response from CNN’s new leadership was to cut the crap and stop airing op ed tv akin to Hannity and Carlson.

Another reason why that fat fuck won't be the nominee. The Republicans can pull their chicken bullshit by saying that it's a witch hunt while also spreading the message of "you can't nominate someone who might be in prison on Election Day. There will be enough voters who don't want that risk. Time to enjoy the Trump indictment ride and focus on who Biden's real opponent will be.

Some legal commentators said it's a weak case, at least the ones on ABC which is what I saw at work. Don't know how you can say that just based upon the indictment, and that better not be true. He is Teflon Don after all, so I'm pessimistic.

Remember all those rumors years ago about the Enquirer allegedly covering up Trump's misdeeds? I vaguely remember a rumor that Cohen was involved in that Enquirer situation too, and now the indictment alleges that.

Thankfully public perception and the law don't intertwine. The media is just mad that it's a boring case. But all in all it's pretty air tight.
