Oh of course but that's the normal U2 kind of weird. I mean it wouldn't be the first time, right.
But allowing someone else to take away the first play of your new lead single is really strange. The main act should do that. Unless it's just a side project and U2 has bigger news coming up anyway. We'll see. But for now and unless U2 makes an announcement very soon, I'd say this is not the lead single.

Why are you stuck on this being something that was officially sanctioned? Guy could have just said fuck it and played it.

Part of me is frustrated with the idea of U2 attempting some massive publicity campaign again, this time via the Olympics, out of fear that it will once again go over like a lead zeppelin. But another part of me just wants the damn thing to be released tomorrow under any circumstances.
