I'm completely biased towards the slight possibility of them playing a California based festival because of the location but I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they chose Bonnaroo. I'd definitely try to go. It's been on my music festival bucket list ever since The Police played that fest.

More realistically I am trying to prepare for a Xmas time presale even though that'd be Awful. I'm a tad bummed about the whole Japan/Argentina unlikelihood too! I was so broke during Vertigo that I couldn't fathom the possibility of an out of country destination show. I loved everything that I saw online about the shows in those countries.

Anyway I'm just echoing everyone's curiosity of what will actually happen :)

We should all aim for our finances and U2.com accounts to be ready to go by November. Fully expect them to announce new dates right after the HBO double documentary.

yeah I think you're right, it's as inevitable as the tides that they'll be something (apart from the blu ray/dvd) announced/released straight after it's aired and, like you said, it'll probably be new dates. More realistic than Songs Of Experience probably and it'd most likely just be the next NA leg, with the rest of us waiting a little longer to hear anything, but still..

But they are having that special on HBO in November -- maybe that's the end of the arena tour and on to something else? I don't know. Have they ever had a concert film in middle of tour before?

Something tells me that we might get two concert films. The Arena SOI show and then the outdoor SOI/SOE show, similar to the Elevation Tour.

Yep.... I should be paying off all of this years tix right about November.

That would make sense especially if we actually get SOE (recent indicators make me more optimistic). However, I am surprised there was only one 360 DVD since the show changed so much after the Rose Bowl show.

NA 2016 announcement is a slam dunk to coincide with HBO specials, especially because of all the rumors of specific cities that have popped up (NYC return, Philly in June). Expecting SOE right before 2016 legs start.

I really hope they don't put another leg on sale in late November/December again for shows in late spring/summer.

It's Christmas time... I don't need to be spending my extra cash on U2 tickets in the middle of the holiday season for two years in a row.

Learn from history, and start saving now. They did it before, so they could certainly do it again. Be ready.

Yeah Christmas is fucking expensive! Plus in my line of work I have a lot of year-end expenses, and that makes Christmas budgeting extra fun! Ugh... I am going to start planning on it. They'd be idiots NOT to take advantage of that exposure.

Same here. We don't do presents for Christmas but it's still an expensive month with all the parties, dinners and New Year's. :crack: Adding U2 tickets and the stress of buying them to that is not my preferred thing.

This is the part I'm dreading. December is usually wall-to-wall with stuff, so I'm really hoping they'll go on sale before Thanksgiving. Paris concert airs Saturday Nov14, announcement on Monday, with tix on sale the following Saturday Nov21 or Monday Nov23.

Just to be clear, this is HOPEFUL SPECULATION, nothing more.

I wish I could worry about buying a second lot of U2 tickets only 1-2 months after seeing some shows..

:grumpy:

Don't worry, everyone!

I'm starting a web based business where we buy the tickets for you. Stop worrying about the stress of waiting in line for U2 tickets, don't worry about losing the best Turkey because you were in front of a computer trying to conquer the GA tickets. WE WILL DO IT FOR YOU!!

For on $34.99 per transaction, we deliver the tickets in your house! But wait, there's more: we"ll put your name on the VIP GA waiting list (the GA list for the upcoming USA shows starts tomorrow, August 8th).

CALL RIGHT NOW! Don't wait anymore! 1-800-SONGSOFEXPERIENCEISCOMING

Ok, no more stupid things :crack:

Do you guys thing that the third leg will have the same amount of concerts in one city like the first one? I mean, I know it won't be 8 consecutive concerts in one town, but maybe 1 city can get 5/6?

I'm on record somewhere (earlier in this thread, maybe?) that I still think they'll aim for multiple nights in fewer cities, with a minimum of two shows per city. If it ain't broke...

I hope so! I'm tending to travel and see the shows in U.S. (SINCE THEY DONT TALK ABOUT DUBLIN ANYMORE), and multiple nights in one city makes the life a lot easier

Of course, the downside of this would be many secondary cities wouldn't get any shows at all (looking at you Raleigh-Durham, Cleveland, Salt Lake City) since two sell-outs would be required.

I would have to think next North American leg would have to have more 2 night stands, not as many, if any 4 nighters, and the much debated 1 night stand in a city. We don't know if U2 will even bother with a city like Cleveland or St. Louis, where 1 night would easily sell out but 2 nights would be tough. Here's my list of cities they could probably do 2 nights at in the NA.
Philadelphia
Washington, D.C.
New York- (non msg venue)
Detroit
Hartford
Toronto
Atlanta
Miami
Dallas
Houston
Minneapolis/ St. Paul
Las Vegas
San Diego
Los Angeles
Seattle
Edmonton or Calgary
Mexico City x4
That's over 30 shows right there. They could probably also come back for 2 more shows in San Francisco, Chicago, Boston and Montreal, but who knows if they will. I sure as hell hope ohio is in there somewhere!

Now in Europe, if they do arenas, they could do numerous 4-nighters all over the continent.

Doubt there will be many, since I think those longer residency cities would have been hit by now. I could see Mexico City getting 4/5 shows though.

Is there any chance U2 will play West Virginia before the end of their career?
