B-Day/MOS/Bad was a VERY cool transition when done in Montreal.

It's the only thing that's really had a nice flow in the final 6 songs of the show all tour.

I'm hoping that song not played since 1989 is Hawkmoon, God Part II or Two Hearts Beat as One. Trying to not get my hopes up.

a brief history of U2 in Chicago:

Elevation - first Out of Control in 11 years, first 11 O'Clock Tick Tock at a tour show in the same amount of time, awesome ZooTV-esque setlist

Vertigo - DVD filmed on Bono's birthday, Vertigo debut of UTEOTW/first Vertigo opener, rare Discotheque appearance, debut of First Time, Daddy's Gonna Pay snippet, and acoustic Wild Horses and Walk On

360 - live debut of Your Blue Room and extremely rare show closing performance of One Tree Hill

what will this tour bring??? I can see Gloria being played tonight.

^Wow they sure love Chicago!

Betting on Two Hearts Beat as One because of the Gay Marriage SCOTUS decision

oh wow you nailed it

that has to be it. I wanted Hawkmoon or Exit but that's definitely what it'll be. we'll see if it makes it to the stage.

It's about time Gloria get's played, though. It seems like a #2 spot lock.

Gloria should've been in the rotation as much as Out of Control over the years. It's a very important part of their early career, and the only recognizable song from October to those outside the hardcore fan base.

Also, a song that hasn't been played since Lovetown? Sounds good to me! But I wish the band would start to feel nostalgic for something from Zooropa or Pop.

Having not played it since 1989, I would be really surprised if they could get it together enough to play it after one day of rehearsing it.

How do we know that they've only rehearsed it for one day? We didn't even know that Lucifer's Hands was on the radar a couple weeks ago, then it suddenly popped up. They probably do lots of undocumented rehearsals. Who knows, maybe they've been rehearsing it since the Ireland legalization and are just now busting it out.
I'd say there's a decent chance it'll show up tonight.

Well, they hadn't played When Love Comes To Town since 1992, and they pulled it out after a day of rehearsing it, no?

I think Two Hearts is a harder song to play (Edge has said it's his least favourite song due to the difficulty of the guitar part, and they would have to figure out the right key to play it in) but if it's something they want to do, they can pull it off.

For anyone curious, here's the Lovetown version of Two Hearts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGpDxNITXAU
It was already played a half step down from the album version in 1989, so who knows what key they'd put it in now.

The United Centre will explode if that happens...

I can't even imagine how great that would be. Now all the need to do is play TIWYCRMN with those two!!!!

Man, that Point Depot version is great. I haven't heard that in ages.

Yup. I was thinking that U2 were great live now, but compared to 1989... goddamn, they were great then. They lost something in the long gap between Zoo TV and Popmart and never recovered it. Up to Zoo TV, they were touring and recording constantly. Bands need that. REM lost something in the break between the Green and Monster tours too. Which isn't to say that some of the best shows I've ever seen were post-Bill Berry REM and Popmart. Just that I wish I'd seen them earlier!

If I get to hear Gloria, Electric Co. and Two hearts beat as one in the two nights in NYC I will die a happy man

Check out the Setlist from my 1st U2 show. I'd pay $1000 easy to hear that live again

BORING! Where are the early gems, like Street Mission or The Fool? Or deep cuts, like I Fall Down and Scarlet? And can't they change out the closer once in a while? 40 is getting old in that slot. This is just a greatest hits set, with only six new album tracks thrown in. Why no Elvis Presley and America?

And only 18 songs? Lame.

;)
